QUOTE(sai86 @ Oct 11 2013, 02:07 PM) Which card? toxic? should be able to run without much problem. and it is a 80 Gold certified. mayb don't oc your gpu n cpu too heavy. neway, if its not able to support, your pc will shutdown the moment you game. Wow that's interesting btw, cheap but effective ways to further cool down you gpu. my idle drop around 5C and load by 5C-10C (BF 4/3, Firemark.) now max temp stress by FM is at 68C ![]() Rm30 only for the bracket. |

QUOTE(antaras @ Oct 11 2013, 02:12 PM) Read this... Dude, how about the GIGABYTE R9 280X 3X windforce?http://www.anandtech.com/show/7406/the-sap...-toxic-review/6 "With that said while this isn’t necessarily a head-to-head article between the 280X Toxic and the Asus 280X DirectCU II TOP, it’s a logical comparison we have to make given the fact that both are factory overclocked 280X cards shooting for strong out of the box performance. For gaming workloads the 280X Toxic cleanly and clearly beats the Asus card here by a meaningful performance amount. However Asus is absolutely a spoiler here due to their aggressive pricing and their very quiet cooler. Their 280X DCUII TOP can’t match the Toxic, but it’s $40 cheaper and over 5dB quieter. Consequently if all you want is the fastest 280X on the market then Sapphire’s 280X Toxic is clearly the card to get, otherwise the Asus card is worth a consideration for its better price/performance ratio and cooling performance. As is almost always the case for factory overclocked cards there is a price to pay for the very fastest card, both in literal cost and in power and acoustics." |

QUOTE(shepard @ Nov 28 2013, 12:12 AM) hmm same card as mine and I do face similar problem before but now its totally gone...You're on win7 or 8.1 now? ermmmm, I suggest try do these first: I'm using windows 8.1 64bit enterprise(trial version) - uninstall everything related to AMD radeon driver (clean your registry as well after full uninstall) - uninstall every overclocking or monitoring tools including profiles etc.. - restart your PC and install AMD driver 13.11 b8 (what I was using right now) I uninstalled the drivers and using CCleaner to clean those registry. I uninstalled my HWmonitor and GPUtweak Restart computer and using AMD driver 13.11b8(from guru3d.com) problem still there |

QUOTE(shepard @ Nov 30 2013, 07:48 PM) As sai86 mentioned, its a good idea to try out your GC on another PC...swapping is a good way to troubleshoot problem but we need another PC for that if the problem still there means the gc is defect? |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Nov 30 2013, 08:23 PM) no, sometimes the BSOD is not defect, it's just AMD drivers are rather wonky. Thanks for the reply. The problem occur with just flickering red and green lines but not BSOD I had a same machine with HD 3450 / HD 5450 / HD 7790 and HD 7970. The HD 7970 works with the latest drivers but not the rest. The HD 7790 needed it's dedicated driver, and will not work with legacy or latest drivers. The HD 3450 will only work with legacy drivers. NecroPhilia could you take note of the file mentioned during BSOD? It might be same issue as i was facing. I solved it by disabling some stuff. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Nov 30 2013, 08:29 PM) oh i thought there's BSOD. Did you mean uninstall the driver and without driver playing those videos and see what happen? could be just graphic card having problem. even my HD 5450 was a nutter, the most 'angin' card I ever used. For now, ignore all those beta drivers. Just stick to the usual drivers. Does the screen look fine before driver install? QUOTE(sai86 @ Nov 30 2013, 08:30 PM) seeing you post this up, izzit because when they inject the bios into the gc has some error/conflict? Microwave to bake it? means can throw it away already? as my 7970ghz works with any driver. hence the above. on the forumer problem, green and red lines aint a hint to get the gc to microwave to BAKE it ady? QUOTE(goldfries @ Nov 30 2013, 08:35 PM) my 7970 ghz certainly did not work properly when 7790 and legacy drivers exist. It was around the early Catalyst 13 days, before 13.4 I believe. so guys, any solution for me? that was just a few months ago, search for HD 3xxx drivers and you'll be pointed to legacy drivers, same goes to HD 7790. this is not the case for the past few Catalyst revisions. |

QUOTE(shepard @ Nov 30 2013, 08:51 PM) NecroPhilia It could be win8.1 trial(no update?) and driver conflict, from my current 280x Top, 5pcs of my previous HD7970s, 2pcs 7850s, 7770 none of them have any issues on Win 7 64bit eventhough I always keep the driver updated to latest beta driver. Its a good idea if you can fresh install win7 on separate HDD/SSD and try latest 13.9 WHQL..see if the problem goes away or not. Thanks for the reply.I just worried about my card is defect and not complaining about amd fault or anything. don't take it as an offence as I just wanted this card to work in my rig smoothly and no problem to play videos and games if the problem persist, then I suggest go to nearest computer shop ask for their help to try out...then only RMA if confirm GPU problem. It had update lol :S I would try it on my windows 7 system by tomorrow and see got any problem because previously my GTX560TI sit on this system with no problem at all, after I swap in this r9 280x,then problem occur :S This post has been edited by NecroPhilia: Nov 30 2013, 09:21 PM |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Nov 30 2013, 08:51 PM) You can find BSOD dump file in "C:\Windows\minidump\" Guys would try it out and report to you as soon as possibleTry this removing method from me. 1. Download and install DriverFusion from here + Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from here. Although Cleanup Utility is an old software, it still work in Win8. 2. Remove all AMD software thru Control Panel. Do not reboot. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 3. Run Windows Installer Cleanup and find any entry of AMD or Catalyst or CCC. Click Remove. Please don't screw up when selecting them. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 4. Now run DriverFusion, select AMD Display and click Delete. Reboot your system. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « .5. Now try install your driver. P/S: If you already done step 1 and you didn't find anything in step 2, simply proceed to step 3. |

I had clean install(reformat) before change the graphic card as wellQUOTE(goldfries @ Nov 30 2013, 09:32 PM) nah, the nVidia driver won't cause any issues. Windows won't have conflict on such petty matters. Aaargh I've had so many AMD and nVidia cards together on same OS. NEVER had any issues regardless GTX 5, 6, or 7 series. The only ones giving me problem are AMD to AMD cards. really strange. QUOTE(shepard @ Nov 30 2013, 09:40 PM) |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Dec 2 2013, 07:54 PM) Hmm.......better go ahead and claim the warranty. I think I don't want to take the risk You could test other bios, but it will void your warranty. Not recommended. Anyway,is there any option that I could top up money to get a better product instead of R9 280x when they found it faulty? By the way,I wonder why cant I drop the graphic card to local service centre but forced to send back to seller? :S |
