Just got the R9 290, the fan noise sounds like a jet engine when in full load. btw, anyone got stuttering issue in BF4 with 290?

lol RM 50 different, but anyhow according to Hikari im the first one to get it in Penang. LOL

As claimed by AMD it is normal for reference designed R290 to hit 90 Celcius.
Why bother to install a 3rd party cooler

Even if you really dont want it to hit 90 celcius, there is always MSI afterburner to allow you to tweak
and customize the fan speed as of your preference.

I gotta say, tested it with COD GHOST all full settings.
Not even a single lag noticed

here you go...



This is up to your preference though, as im using Raven02E casing my temperature could be reduced down abit.
Max i have seen when on COD Ghost is around 85 celcius with maximum fan speed at 60%

If the fan speed goes over 60%, you can hear a jet engine in your rig
