just got my R9 290 today, LOL, running Valley with custom fan profile, max 79c in Valley

Man, all these r-290/X score makes me so tempting to get it to drive it for 1440p
really a great improvement against 7970ghz.

i'm using Xigmatek Asgard 382W, LOL, but i head bout Silencio,  haha, i think that case should isolate lot of noise, coz my friend using silencio 550, dunno details on its air flow

I remember reading somewhere on mod thread that u can use those sound dampener to put it inside the case the same material used in home theatre. Maybe can use that stick at the corner of the casing or un used compartment?

higher asic higher require lower voltage to run hence high OC ability even on air, low asic score need more voltage to run, with ln2 and wc suits it beter, can pump more voltage on it
so far l seen ppl with asic score of 80% being able to boost 1.2-1.3ghz on air, while lower tough luck

Thanks for sharing, but honestly, I don't have much data on ASIC values vs overclockability, and it was more accurate for Nvidia cards.

Based on what I've seen, ASIC value cannot be too high, or too low.
- Too high, then the card cannot overclock, hit speed wall.
- Too low, then the card needs more voltage to run to compensate internal leakage, and in turns overheats faster.

75% is good, 50% is bad, base on what l seen so far

There are a lot of reports on Powercolor R9 290 being able to bios unlock to 290x, not sure if feiton is bringing in any of these Powecolor R9 290.
