What if I buy from shop that allows monthly repayment and I pay the bill using AMEX on every weekend?
*
The weekeend rebate 5% will be given on the day (Sat/Sun) you bought the item.
The EzyPay amount will be posted on Statement Date (doesn't need to be weekend lah).

Let's say you bought iPad today (21-Dec) and you will get the 5% Weekend Rebate.
Your EzyPay per month will be charged on Statement Date.

QUOTE(ChipZ @ Dec 21 2013, 11:05 AM)
Thanks for the clarification. That means if I buy an iPad today, and pay a portion of it (where i get 5%), the upcoming monthly payment on weekend will still entitle me for the consistent 5% right?
*
Wrong lah... at the time of swipe (TODAY as example), you will not be charged a single sen until Statement Date.
But the total amount is used to calculate the 5% Weekend Rebate for December 2013 (rebate will be posted on 1 Jan 2014)

Correct me if i am wrong, Ronnie. I believe all installment plans offered merchants with the banks work this way:

- customer buys, swipe in full
- merchant claims from bank in full
- bank bills customer monthly by installments (and hope that you don't pay or don't pay in full)

conclusion: merchant gets it in full at first swipe, it is the bank who took over the installments

Unlike Balance Transfer and installment plans that are offered to specific cards, which will charge in full unless specified or instructed otherwise.

EzyPay should be the former.
*
You are right in the flow for EzyPay.... banks always pay "on your behalf" first....

Yesterday, I just received the IKEA Gift Card RM100 from Maybank under "Receive a Complimentary IKEA Gift Card with Maybank American Express ® Card" campaign.

I didn't even realise there's such a promotion at IKEA.

I guess MBB realised that the "Maybank" name is more popular than "Maybankard"

That's very strange.... are you a new Maybankard 2 AMEX cardholder ?
Did you complete any transactions on WEEKEND in December (i.e. 1,7,8,14,15,21,22,28,29) and posted before 31 Dec 2013 ?
