2 times i try to use the amex card, failed both times...once at tesco, once at shell station...

called card center (platinum, call thru liao direct to people not the usual computer answering), after check, they dun have any record that i attempt to use the amex, so she said maybe my amex chip spoil, will issue me a new one...

I am currently holding MBB MasterCard Classic, and I am thinking of applying for MBB 2 Platinum Card (MasterCard + AMEX). Upon approval and card activation, I planned to cancel the existing MasterCard Classic and request to transfer all balance reward points to newly issued MasterCard Platinum or AMEX Platinum.

Questions :

1) Since I’m currently holding a MBB MasterCard Classic, would my application for MBB 2 Platinum (MasterCard + AMEX) be rejected for an individual is not allow to hold two MasterCard with MBB at the same time ?

2) As far as I’m aware, reward points for my existing MBB MasterCard Classic is without expiry date, is it so ? Or there have been changes lately where MBB has already imposed an expiry date on the reward points ?
Before this no expiry but now have expiry date which is 3years

3) Is reward point for AMEX Platinum and MasterCard Platinum with expiry date? If so, what is the expiry duration ?
Yes. 3years. Same for all other MBB cards.

4) How do I link the newly issued MasterCard Platinum + AMEX Platinum to my existing Maybank2u internet banking so that I’m able to make card settlement and make online transaction check for the newly issued MasterCard Platinum + AMEX Platinum ? To request MBB Card Centre @ KLCC to do so at time of application ? Or need to go to the nearest MBB Branch to fill-up the specific form requesting MBB to add in and link them to my existing Maybank2U a/c ?
Usually automatically link to your M2U account. If this is not done upon getting your cc, just request through customer service or go to any maybank card centre

5) I’ve just signed up a 3-Yr Car Wash Package using my existing MasterCard Classic with 12 months interest free instalments plan, can I request MBB to switch the balance of monthly instalment from MasterCard Classic to AMEX Platinum (‘cos I want to cancel my MasterCard Classic after getting the new AMEX card).
If is a EPP directly to maybank, it will automatically transfer to new card. This apply to treatpoints and other autopay as well

Oh, thanks for the info. Your recent refers to the one that is just launched for this year (1st Jan 2014 onwards)? Because I tried end of last year with my AMEX and wasn't entitled for it. Viewed the promo details on the Maybank website and it clearly states only for Visa and Mastercard... :-(

just like DrPitchard faced, i tried with my mbb2amex previously in 2013 but not entitled for the 7% unless using my mbb2master. i tried using my wife's mbb2amex and faced the same thing (no 7%). i never try using mbb2amex for agoda anymore until starting 2014, i tried to key in my mbb2amex and saw it's entitled for the 7%. i'm unsure what's the glitch too.

just wondering i have a card with rm15k limit, but i want to buy a rm40k item to swipe card, cause its not safe to carry that much cash to the shop. just wondering if maybank allows to "open" my card for that amount, so I can swipe  the rm40k and then later bank deposit to mbb credit card ??

Statement from Jan 15th to Feb 15th. Cash Back for the whole of Jan (RM50) will be accounted for on the 1st or 2nd of February?

i think it is still too costly for amex to give 5%+5xtp(2%) every day, although amex charge higher rate than visa/master. so by giving only for weekends, amex can use the extra profit from weekdays to cover the weekends cash back to the users.

haha. mbb is my salary account maaa. they should know 

no auto-upgrade. you need to apply for upgrade yourself. no matter for credit limit increase or from gold to platinum.

reasons are:
1) if they auto increase your credit limit (without your consent), let's say from rm10k to rm15k, if you lose your cc and your cc being used for unauthorised transactions til rm15k, you will blame the bank for simply increase without your approval causing additional lost.
2) if they auto upgrade your cc from gold to platinum (without your consent), you will blame the bank when you find that all your auto-debit were down because your gold cc has been terminated and been replaced with the platinum cc, so you suddenly have to go through all the hassles to change all your auto-debit to the new platinum cc.

Just want to check with you all,  those who doesn't have saving or current account with maybank, shall open an saving or current account in order to link the amex card with m2u??? cos just now went to bank,  this is the info given

RM70000 will give me 350000 treatpoints and with 250 equivalent to RM1, I can change it to RM1400 in Metrojaya, Parkson, Sony, Senheng, or any shop that can use treatpoints.

while 1% of RM70000 is only RM700, right?

I will. As a matter of fact, I just got back from applying the 2-Plat cards. The application was pretty simple, however it kinda surprised me that they didn't ask me to open an account in Maybank before they took my application.

I'm a foreigner, that's why. It's actually stated in the website that foreigners need to have an account with Maybank before applying for credit cards. It's either I just got an unknown "waiver" or they'll ask me while processing, I guess.

i have not tried any maybank card at the moment. heard that maybankard amex is the best. thinking to switch to maybank card as my primary credit card. so amex is the best, right?
