Arsene Wenger defends Jack Wilshere's commentWenger told BBC Sport: "I agree with him. I always said also an Englishman should manage the England team." The Frenchman warned that national teams risk replicating clubs, who buy players to represent them regardless of their passport or nationality. "I feel, as well, in Januzaj's example do you just come six months and play for a country? It's not realistic. Maybe if he stays a few years and he decides that he wants to play for England then... "But he has not chosen yet which country he wants to play for."

England desperation level >9000
Or roy hodgson just afraid to be jobless again.
Might as well make united nations or satu europe if you want to have some guy not born in the country playing.
This is like asking singapore national team at the moment. Ada china, bangla, indo, african etc etc. You bangga la if u win anything rite?

It's not a question of quality, more toward sentimentality and patriotism. Nobody can replace those two factors more than your own countrymen.
Personally, for a country that pride themselves with the English-mentality, by bringing 'imports' i'm afraid it will set a wrong precedent for the future. The same reason why i rather watch Malaysia national football team schoolboy performance than quality but filled with the likes of imports. Triumph or failure, at least it is 100% our people.
However whether it has any bearing to the team performance in big tournament is up to the hierarchy to decide.
