In stock ROM, is there a feature like touch wake? Meaning that after phone screen on, after 30 second idle, screen will go off, but phone haven't go in sleep mode (because setting set phone sleep after 1 min). If we want to wake up screen now, by touching the screen instead of pressing power button.

P/S: It is not like touch control, because touch control is all the time standby to touch wake.
*
using stock rom and semaphore kernel, touch wake can be enabled and working fine for me.

You mean Semaphore can be used together with stock ROM? Is root needed to use Semaphore?
*
smile.gif many kernels are compatible with stock rom. you can compile your own too

yes, you need root. I think when you want to overwrite the default kernel, you will need root.

Jss. The b40 worked, and now b41 t4 also worked. But have to flash the wifi fix (dePRIMAtor.zip) first, then can flash any JSS 4.3 kernels. No visual glitch like I experienced when using ak112, and I didnt even disable hw overlay with hellscore b41 t4

maybe this is silly question, but why you are using JB kernel on Kitkat?

GPE devices update is still kinda mystery.
OEM say Google handle the hardware adaptation & function updates but Google say OEM will deliver updates themselves.
I think Google will just take care of the entire system update but it is up to the OEM when they want to push the update.

Back to Nexus story,I wonder how long will the Nexus devices will have to wait for the update & how many features will be Nexus 5 exclusive.
I found the whole "Google Experience Launcer is a Nexus 5 exclusive" thing to be a stupid idea. The launcher file itself is mostly dummy file nowdays.Since the Google search is in pretty much all Android devices why not push the experience too all Android devices? It's a good thing if more people use Google stuff right?
*
patients my friend smile.gif

I think the official KK for N4 might involve radio updates as well, as happens in the past. Compiling KK looks easy, many KK ROMs already available, but we are not sure yet on the radio, and official LTE as well, maybe not for our region though.

snapdragon 800 has the always on chip to detect the "ok google", so that might make the google experience exclusive for N5. so, full KK experience really depends on the hardware it's running as well, not similar for all.

Snapdragon 800 has always on chipset? Never heard that before. Any source to read on that?

Btw, Nexus 5 doesn't listen while it's sleeping unlike Moto X which has a dedicated co-processor that handles all the sensors in its X8 chipset. Nexus 5 only listens when the screen is on according to what I read on some reviews.
*
Maybe this will do.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Always-on-v...gon-800_id46105

I'm not sure if this is dedicated chip or workaround like mentioned by @super_evil_alien

Guys, today i realized that when charging using my USB plug, it charging status is USB, not AC. I try change the cable and it charging status is AC. How to solve this? I donno whether we occasionally connect to PC and charge using the same cable effect or not. any clue?
*
you are not using the right cable then. AC chargers are wired on D+/D- so they dray more juice from USB. There are some cables use exclusive for charging and not data, this will show AC when you are connected to USB

Google really is disappointing now. How can they keep things exclusive to the Nexus 5? going to android.com and seeing the features, some of them is purely nexus 5 features.. android.com should be showcasing AOSP features, and not for their own device..

Google is going down the Apple route, locking things to their latest gadget just like what apple is doing every time a new iOS is released. Gone are the days when Nexus=no bullshit developer phone series and a big f*** you to selfish companies like Apple and Samsung. Hell, now even Samsung is better, with Galaxy Note 1 getting Premium Suite upgrade to be on par with the Note 2 when it came out.

The very fact we had to wait so long for 4.4 when AOSP has been released for a week or more is already showing Google's "Apple" behavior.

I feel cheated by Google buying this phone. Of course I can flash custom ROM.. but Google already betrayed all of us. GEL launcher and 4.4 should be included with Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. How can Google stop supporting GN when custom ROMS can run 4.4 WITH GEL perfectly? TI updated their binaries according to XDA.

it's normal for the support for N-1, expect Nex4 will not have the next android 4.5 or 5.

I don't think the stock image is putting the correct bootloader and baseband.

require board=mako
require version-bootloader=MAKOZ30d
require version-baseband=M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.97

the included bootloader in the image is MAKOZ20i and bootloader is 2.0.1700.84.

The userdata.img has about 100MB on it. I'm not sure what is it used for, if possible I want to flash it.

This is what happen when I try the update.

F:\users\mama\downloads\occam-krt16o-factory-75ccae7a\occam-krt16o-factory-75cca
e7a\occam-krt16o>"c:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot\fastboot.exe"
update image-occam-krt16o.zip
archive does not contain 'boot.sig'
archive does not contain 'recovery.sig'
archive does not contain 'system.sig'
--------------------------------------------
Bootloader Version...: MAKOZ20i
Baseband Version.....: M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.84
Serial Number........: 0273dae20cd3a2bb
--------------------------------------------
checking product...
OKAY [ 0.002s]
checking version-bootloader...
FAILED

Device version-bootloader is 'MAKOZ20i'.
Update requires 'MAKOZ30d'.

finished. total time: 0.014s

F:\users\mama\downloads\occam-krt16o-factory-75ccae7a\occam-krt16o-factory-75cca
e7a\occam-krt16o>

I know we can update the android-info file, but I'll wait till proper boot-loader and baseband

Does anyone have a step-by-step video on how to manually flash Kit Kat to Nexus 4? Been trying since the morning, don't know how sad.gif
*
you can start by getting then USB debug mode on, then download adb. Ask again after you successfully able to list device in adb; like this;

So, I am still quite upset why the Transparent bars is not available for Nexus 4 in Kitkat... but i still want it...

So, I downloaded Nexus 5 firmware, extract the GoogleHome.apk and install it into my Nexus 4.

[attachmentid=3723896]

I also decoded the GoogleHome.apk, it's really just a stub that call the Google Experience in the new Google Search.

So, if you want this, update kitkat, update your Google Search and just install the GoogleHome.apk.

PS: exclusive my @ss... ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

can you share the apk? too lazy to download and extract from Nex5 image.

Thanks!!!

Stuck at fastboot. Try to insert command via cmd for fastboot flashall, yet nothing happened.
*
if 'fastboot devices' does not detect any device you most probably still in normal adb mode. you need 'adb reboot bootloader' first. Then when you see the bootloader screen, issue the fastboot command
