my previous phone since nokia in 2005 all i keep for 2 year before upgrading, my shortest was galaxy s plus which is 1 year plus only, coz samsung didnt give update and i beh tahan with gingerbread, so bought nexus, now im not planning to buy new phone until google stop giving update to nexus 4, i hope can last more than 2 years, it will be a record breaking 

1day old n4 ,, hope not 2 late coz n5 will be launched in a few weeks

stock 4.3 .. good battery life

change ur launcher. use nova or smth. usually can let u have non scolling wallpaper

stock launcher is kinda sucky when it comes to customization. we have 2GB ram, utilise it!

u wont conserve tat much. 

this is really funny!  i have never heard RAM can conserve battery

RAM is supposed to be used, or else y pay so much for a device?  it's like buying a Ferrari and then only use it to go pasar

what is your layout grid setting? clean and simple

if you rooted, the battery percentage can straight away indicate on top right corner's battery icon, without third party battery percentage apps

Finally stock android will get transperant navigation and notification bar. It sure takes big-g long enough. Its actually just change some values in framework.jar.
