I will require to write a word but not in PC, but instead using a piece of paper (White paper) and brush/chacoal/pen and etc. The problem is, if I choose to do brush, there will be small little texture. How should I crop/cut only the word, because after I finish, i will have to scan the artwork, and crop it, then I will only able to apply background color and other elements. Let me know. Thanks.

urm.. write in black on a thick paper that when scan it doesn't see through. then in Photoshop, play with the Levels so that you get an absolute positive/negative or black and white color from the scanning. then use the wand (set to Antialias) and copy paste to a new document. then because each word is already transparent, just seperate them via layers and you can control its colors individually. that's how i'd do it.
