QUOTE(incubus_skj @ Oct 8 2013, 09:55 PM) Specialized is having a discount on their 2013 models... Even the S-Works Venge only costs around 9k+ after 20% discount I tot is over edi? Saw the queue mega long so i couldnt bother to have a look at it. I am thinking getting custom made stainless steel racing frame or ti frame |

Was wondering any Giant dealer in kl? Other than giant shop in wangsa maju and Samy in batu caves. Looked tru bbs but most don have my size xs (51.5) top tube.
Wanna get something to replace my 54mm top tube which is too big for my 170 height. lol Anyone of you concern about bb30 on their bike, certain shop tell me to stay away as it will creak This post has been edited by minizian: Oct 13 2013, 11:24 PM |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Oct 13 2013, 11:28 PM) s which is 53.5 top tube is abit too long for me. That why i prefer something shorter than 53.5. I usually go down one size from the recommended suggestion. The problem is most shop is not honest and more keen to clear of their stock then giving honest opinion on what size you should ride. This post has been edited by minizian: Oct 13 2013, 11:31 PM |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Oct 13 2013, 11:51 PM) bb30 is okay. the prob is, frame manufacturers tend to not adhere to the tight tolerance of bb30 requirement. that's why it creaks. one solution is to use PF30 bb. I am considering either giant TCR slr or Caad 10. I prefered giant cos it using pressfit 86 but did not have my size in xs when i visited the two dealer mentioned earlier. For caad they do offer my size (not sure if dealer offer that) but I am worried bb30 as my stuff are gxp. Not sure if any converter i can use to convert bb30 to gxp. BSA/ISO is still the safe bet, but not many manufacturer still make their frames with this type of bb. most have taken the pressfit approach. like it or not. given the choice, i'd take BSA/ISO This post has been edited by minizian: Oct 14 2013, 12:08 AM |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Oct 14 2013, 12:32 AM) here's a solution for ur bb30/gxp I am interested in PF86 or english thread cos my sram red crankset is GXP version. I would like to reuse what i have as i am not keen to spend 1k plus for bb30 version. Not to mention heard about horror story about creaking in bb30 equiped bike. That why i am looking for bike that have normal english thread or pf86.http://wheelsmfg.com/products/bottom-brack...m-brackets.html tcr slr... proprietary seatpost. me no like. why do u prefer pf86 rather than bb30? pf86 does not require tolerance as stringent as bb30. and what does that tell you? QUOTE(butthead @ Oct 14 2013, 01:01 AM) is there still frames that runs bb30... most have moved onto pf already lar i think... Caad 10 and Allez e5 still using bb30. Not PF30 as the spec written.and if pf86 is already being considered? why not pf30 and make sure of stiffer and lighter cranks? but, it's pointless to say this cos it's dictated by the frame that one likes... So for 5k budget should i get an alu bike like caad10/tcr slr or i better off with known carbon frames? |

I did went to dealer to see on ultravox, for that price i think its quite okay. The guy said still can further discount the TI if i were to decide to buy the frame. What you think about their lower end Attack bike?
I am still unsure to go for custom stainless steel frame or another carbon bike @@ Noticed the 2014 frame went upt to 7k plus in their website @@ Any idea how much does 'dale Caad 10 in 105 cost here in KL? This post has been edited by minizian: Oct 20 2013, 04:10 PM |

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Oct 25 2013, 02:48 PM) Shimano's shoes got replacable parts for heel part? what happend if the heel pad worn out? That why i like Sidi cos most of their stuff are replacable. Pity i moved on to other shoes cos sidi shoe size i bought is a little too small for me but the same doesnt apply to sidi wire(tried at shop) with the same size, may need to downsize if i were to buy it. Bont shoes, nice but the fitting feel odd for me (got the feeling your feet is in mini bathtub) when i was trying out at the dealer, is it because the shoe have not oven bake??I had 2 sets of shoe and i try to make sure i don walk to much as they pads are not replaceable About power meter? Stages crank based power meter cost around 900USD, but sadly they dont sell outside US. Need someone to go US and bulk order for us. lol This post has been edited by minizian: Oct 25 2013, 05:00 PM |

QUOTE(butthead @ Oct 25 2013, 04:40 PM) QUOTE(butthead @ Oct 25 2013, 05:12 PM) i think that's not an actual power measurement lar... more like an estimation system... it relies on something regarding the chain or something like that.... Any idea how km's does SRM battery last? I do consider it last time but the price is just too awesome might not be that accurate... anyways.... as i said.. how it measures is not important... it's the system that supports the data logged... you need to know what is logged and how to use it... SRM head units does give you a bit more data compared to units like edge which only shows current power output...and those data is useful in the event of a race... |

QUOTE(joyformidable @ Oct 27 2013, 08:36 PM) Lol caad is 'dale answer for racer who wan good frame but not keen to splash $$ on carbon frame. Giant TCR 1 (aluminium) only cost around 3.8k with 105 as well. Not sure if the alu TCR are as good as caad 10. Both are nice but price wise giant wins hands down but performance wise i not really sure about it. The tcr alu also have hydroform parts here and there & its compact frame as oppose to traditional frame to the caad (which also had hydroformed part if u raba the frame cant be seen in pics). The fitting for both also are quite close to franklyTeh shop is near zoo negara area, they told me the carried the stuff from distributor in sg. That being said, cycling is all about the legs. I had being tapaued by MSN junior rider on alu bike lol This post has been edited by minizian: Oct 27 2013, 09:31 PM |

QUOTE(joyformidable @ Oct 27 2013, 10:38 PM) is it light as well? i read somewhere the caad10 really light like 1150g plus a carbon front fork 300g total 1450 near carbon bike weight edi.. Yeah it suppose to be light but just add few more gram over the manufacturer claims as usually its heavier in real world. I liked about the caad is they treat it as a proper racing rig, not like some other brand who treat alu road bike as entry level frame and spec it up with shitty stuff. Geo is the same as supersix model too. Price wise is comparable to mid/low end carbon frame.I think giant TCR also the same as they said its all rounder frame for any skill level. Like caad the geo is same as the carbon TCR too. Not much info i can find on the net about giant TCR. For me weight is not really concern for me as whatever weight saving i gained from the frame will be cancel out by my bottles and fully loaded saddle bag |
