actually there is no standard to classify what is high modulus or high strength... so, there is no suiing around as it is just a classification...

take Toray for instance... they classify their own product, T1000G, T800S, and T700s as high strength grade and it also shows up in their standard modulus range (T700s) and intermediate modulus (T1000G and T800S)

the T800 has higher tensile modulus than T700 but it shares the same properties with T1000G except for the T1000G being more stronger...

MSI means million pounds per square inch... if you look at pinarello where they name their bikes after the carbon they use like 65HM1k... meaning it is 65 million pounds per square inch in 1k weave...

as far as i understand... the tow size is mainly a cost factor where the larger the tow the cheaper the carbon is... a tow size of 12k means that there is 12 thousand individual strands of carbon in a single bundle... i've read somewhere that lower tow size is used because larger tow size is cheap but is harder to shape....

and all but not least is the layup schedules... carbon is only stiff in 1 single direction... so, in order to make a tube that can resist force in 1 direction... the carbon is layed up with all the strands heading 1 direction only (what they term as 0 degree)... if they want to make it for the downtube which has to twist in all directions.. then they might lay it criss crossing (what they call +- 45 degree) so the carbon can resist torsional forces....

an uncooked stand of spaghetti is stiff but not strong because it breaks if you try to bend it...

a cooked stand of spaghetti is strong but flexes around when you try to bend it....

there is stiff and strong carbon... but, the fact stays that is will never be the strongest nor the stiffest out there....

Cervelo knows what they are doing, can't be much wong getting a Cervelo frame....rite ah?

my bike when going uphill got sound coming up in front 'tak tak tak', but straight road/downhill no problem. Any idea whats wrong?

actually i've exchanged emails with him. another friend exchanged emails with another fella. same MO.

- buyer transfers money
- he promises to send to ur doorstep within 3-5 hours
- he refuses COD. give excuses such as previous customer attacked him and stole his money and the bikes.
- willing to swap components to meet customers requests, however absurd. and still can deliver within the time promised.

a friend trolled a fella once. asked if can put XTR pedal on a roadbike, CAN. asked if can COD in front of police station if scared of being attacked by the buyer, REFUSED. asked if can send from Miri to this place i don't remember where, but usually takes really long time, have to ride on a boat, CAN. and the seller can even install crankset Super Record Ultra Rival, DAFUQ?
