QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 12 2013, 09:55 PM) when we talk about road tubeless, does it mean tubeless specific? or can we convert normal clincher to tubeless using sealant like mtb? whichever way lar... you want to tape like stans or you buy tubeless ready wheels like the new shimano's or fulcrum two way fit or mavic UST sort of shit... whichever keeps your tires hooked onto the rim... furthermore, which tubeless dun recommend you put sealant... sealant is like using condoms during sexy time... even though it's not fertile period for your lady partner... it is still better to have insurance... QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 12 2013, 10:03 PM) what i mean is, normal tyres can ah? or must use specific tubeless tyres, like this? http://www.hutchinsontires.com/en/road/20-...d-tubeless.htmlas far as i understand.. you have to use tubeless specific tires lar... cause the beads are designed to hold the tire under pressure without popping off the rim hooks...and this is very apparent because every tubeless users complain about how hard it is to get the tires onto a rim if they ever have to install a tubeless tire... even stan's tubeless conversion kit just converts a normal clincher rim to a tubeless system.. but i don't remember that it recommends that normal clincher tires can be used... saya quote stan's road tubeless QUOTE Please note, unlike with mountain bike conversions, specific Road Tubeless tires are required for conversion. They have been designed with a folding tire bead that will not stretch and cause catastrophic blowouts. Road Tubeless tires must be used and we have partnered with Hutchinson to provide three excellent options. http://www.notubes.com/Road-Tubeless-C78.aspxThis post has been edited by butthead: Nov 12 2013, 10:11 PM

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 12 2013, 09:55 PM) when we talk about road tubeless, does it mean tubeless specific? or can we convert normal clincher to tubeless using sealant like mtb? I tried it using normal tires. gave up on it. kept leaking both air and sealant from the sidewalls, even after a few days. currently using hutchinson atoms for my tubeless setup

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Nov 12 2013, 10:14 PM) i might have exaggerated a bit lar... must drama sikit ma... but it's a requirement for tubeless lar.. if the whole bead is not hard and tight.. then it doesn't work quite so well... that's why car tubeless require a machine to pry the tyre out mah...
