I'm quite unclear about it though I've watched and read what you posted several times.
I guess I'll have to loosen the stem bolts first before start doing anything to the top cap.

that's right. if u read the article, it says that the stem DOES NOT function as the bearing preload. everytime u loosen the top cap, u have to do the whole process. if u don't loosen the stem, u gonna risk preloading the bearings with the wrong value.

please remember to knock the stem loose after u've undone the bolts. sometimes it's stuck. if u don't, it's the same as not loosening the bolts.

Okay. Thanks for clearing things up!

The thule gadget can be taken out completely or not? Or will stick on the car forever?
*
It can be removed from the receiver.

Got any photo sample of how it'll look on a sedan car? I can't find any sample on the net.

what we term chain skip is when a chain link jumps ahead a tooth or so under load and causes your pedal stroke to lunge forward... are you sure you are having that symptom or do you mean that you derailleur is out of tune and your chain is rubbing? where you get those tak-tak-tak sounds...

I mean when lets say I'm trying to change to the 8th from the 7th , it won't change. Then I'll have to hit the shifter again then it will skip the 8th and straight to 9th.
