nowadays RM0.10 is 750ml RO water...
Assume 50 people drinking 2.25L water from you ie 50 x 0.30 = RM15 bucks per day. each months collect total 15 x 30 = RM450 Best deal to rent a place is about RM200-300 only RM100+ monthly net income for a near 10k investment? Is this considered a good investment? |

not to forget that you need to payback your capital, so in 100 months only you get back your capital. which means you only get profit in 8 years? >.<

QUOTE(rexis @ Jun 8 2006, 01:38 PM) I saw on newspaper stated a water vending machine for RM9,388.00 The water filter itself only cost RM1K to RM3K. I do not know about the rest of the vending machine. But, I would imagine there is serious markup with the price of RM9,388. You should shop around for a better deal before you start. There are at least 3 and perhaps a lot more companies in this line.Worth the investment? Really trouble free business you just need to machine to do the business for you 24/7? Dreamer |

Yup its fishy enough.Dreamer RM9388 looks like the cheapest i can find on star classified, i hv been thinking about this since sometime ago. First i saw another brand cost RM35k O.o" after a while i saw another one 10k cheaper, later i saw one cost 'only' RM13k and then finally this one... It will be like paying this lum sum, then the company will help you service the water filter and so on. Also you need to give like 30% of your income to them... But seriously, diamond water filter can rent for only RM2 per day, rather open up a counter selling diamond water... |

they charge an additional 30% ontop of the capital investment? that's daylight robery man!
I thought that there are various types of machine. as some claimed to be RO but might be just those normal filter type or sand filter inside those machine. secondly, have you put service and maintainence as part of your operating cost? I see most water vending machine are located just outside the permis of the owner's shop. so, if you have a shop of your own, i guess it won't be that difficult to start a water vending business, but if you don't and require to rent space outside some one's shop, then it might be difficult especially when coming to water bill concerns. lastly, though i've never witness any broken machine myself, there's a tendency for vandalism. hope your machine is insured. |

they charge 30% and take care of the water filter for me. Ok what. You need to change the carbon filter like once every 2 weeks.
But there are like 8 vending machine near my office, the competition is huge now, not really worth to dump 10k like that. Seriously you never know what you are drinking, perhaps no different then water from a RM100+ nasional filter! |

QUOTE(rexis @ Jun 9 2006, 12:08 PM) they charge 30% and take care of the water filter for me. Ok what. You need to change the carbon filter like once every 2 weeks. 1) Diamond water filter is a whole house water filter. It is not a drinking water filter. So, it cannot be used for this purpose. But there are like 8 vending machine near my office, the competition is huge now, not really worth to dump 10k like that. Seriously you never know what you are drinking, perhaps no different then water from a RM100+ nasional filter! 2) RO water filter supposed to very good and is a drinking water filter. But, I do not know. I alway boil my water. It is better to be safe than sorry with Malaysian water. 3) A complete RO water filter is around RM 1K to 3K. Carbon filter , sediment filter and those stuff are not expensive. The most expensive part of the RO filter is the membrance filter which normally you change once per year (household usage). That maybe goes up to RM800 each. So, what am I saying here?? A) If a reasonable price is charged on the water vending machine and you get reasonable amount of business, it might be worthwhile. B) It looks like at this moment, there is serious amount of markup versus what is actually costs to make and maintain the vending machine. Dreamer |
