QUOTE(taiping boy @ Nov 29 2013, 01:23 PM)
Dear Almerian, my VL already clocked 9,000 km. Should be due for 3rd service on next month. So far after 5months, i would like to make some comments and appreciate if everyone can give feedback or advise. Thanks.

1. Exterior- good noise proof. Acceptable design(mine without bodykit). Looks like mini luxury.
My brilliant white paint doesnt looks durable.
Wondering anyone install any BK apart from Impul? DRL? Pls include price.

2. Interior- acceptable design & quality. Spacious rear legroom. Good headroom.
Uncomfortable seat. Its no providing enough support and comfort. Gear knob looks cheapo. Awkward steering positioning. Handrest at door too low and narrow. Not practical. Switches at door too far from reach. Need to buy armrest. No seatpocket at rear. Compartment above glovebox not practical. The two bar holding windscreen is too width and bulky thus blocking view during cornering.

Appreciate feedback on this. Since we will be inside most of the time.

3. Handling- smooth drive. Decent gear switching. My top speed is 180km/h.
Miserable cornering at above 50km/h. Car will is very floaty and swirl alot at above 100km/h. Steering lack response at speed above 140km/h. Tyre feels uneven and unbalance at speed above 80km/h. Car will sidestep during high speed braking.
Can't agree more on this bro, all I can say is my driving style has been changed drastically after I started driving an Almera, from Fast & Furious to Slow & Steady  sweat.gif

Any solution? Change tyre? Change rim? Install anti roll bar? Im really stuck at this part. The most important issue that i wanna solve. Kindly give recomendation and price.
I reckon by changing to a wider and better tire would improve braking, while lowered spring+ARB+camber adjustment would improve handling

4. Bonnet- looks spacious. Looks width.
In actual its depth. Due to rear seat cant fold.

5. Engine- lightweight engine. Wet based battery. Everything is just fine at the engine compartment.
I was wondering whats the engine oil used on 10k service? Can we choose or bring our own oil?
They'll pour in Castrol semi synthetic, which then will change your service intervals from every 5000km to 10000km.

Almerian, come and spill out whatever your thought is. I hope that we can all improve our Almer into flawless drive.

Nissan almera works better on 15" or 16" wheel? Please comment Thx
*
QUOTE(Blues03 @ Mar 10 2014, 02:32 PM)
15" for save FC...16" ok..but i recommend 17"...nicer wink.gif
*
15" for sure, this size has many benefits when compared to bigger rims. Cheaper tires, more tires are available for 15", smaller rims mean no extra weight, or stress is applied to Almera's 1.5L engine, lower FC, and in short, more cost effective.

QUOTE(RandyBlind @ Mar 20 2014, 09:19 PM)
Hi im randy im a tan chong sales advisor. Tan chong is quite a shitty company bad management and very conventional thinking. They are lucky enough to have brought in nissan and thats the reason why they can survive up to now.

Lucky enough they have a saying if u want to beat ur enemy(toyota in precise), 1st u have to be as good as them. All the old uncle boss of tan chong whom are up to no good had been replaced by younger managers specifically from umw. Yes, a revolutionary move, but as tempting as it sounds, still they withheld the old conventional thinking, with all the sops, its gonna have a revolutionary effect which is good but its gonna take awhile.

Ok, im here to help to clarify anything u need and want to know about all the comparison and feedback on all car makes. And i will be very honest with u guys. Just that if anyone were to buy a nissan, i hope my sincerity help to close back some business. Thank u
*
ok bro if u dont mind, may I know how much commission do you get when you sell an Almera? Don't misunderstood, we just wanna know how hard can we squeeze the SA to give the best discount+rebate.

hi all,any owner for almera manual?please share your fuel efficiency...im thinking to get almera m/t..just to clarity the fuel consumption...
*
I am an almera MT owner and I get 7.6l/100km, which translates into 13.16km/l. 90% city drive and heavy right footer biggrin.gif , so don't use my FC as benchmark.

I also clocked 190 max but with air conditioning on. Was trying to chase an E class and golf gti but ended up getting smoked... haha. ..
*
190km/h for a 1.5L NA is consider very fast already. Both cars that you chased are at least 2.0 Turbo with top speed of not more than 230km/h, so are you proud of Almera's performance now? tongue.gif

Haha indeed proud now since u put it this way... my only gripe is the pickup is slow and soundproof not that good. Just now read some forumer serviced their car over rm1k now scared liao...
*
Yes the pickup is a bit turn off, but remind yourself that Almera was tuned mainly for economy, but not performance and if you're on stock setting, my advice is don't push too hard as I've had experience driving mine at high speed followed by hard braking and the rear skidded as if gonna drift side way. shocking.gif It scared the hell out of me! Guess the stock Conti CC1 was never suitable for hard braking.

QUOTE(bluecar @ May 5 2014, 12:45 PM)
How is the gear shifting, short throw? Is it like Saga BLM - long throw, and very rubbery feeling when changing gear?
How soft is the clutch, like Iswara, BLM?

I'm planning to get a manual, but no showrooms have a manual to test.
*
Can't say whether it is short or long throw, but it should be in between and I find it quite balanced smile.gif The clutch is soft, which is actually good for city drive, unless u like to torture yourself. I don't feel rubbery shifting at all but you shouldn't expect to get the feeling of better manual boxes, such as Subaru's, VW's, and etc. Just be realistic and compare within the same range

My Almera bearing issue arise on 20K mileage.
Right after the 20K major service in SC. doh.gif
*
It seems that your SC is not technically competent to solve the problem, they're making it worse. Mine is already 18k+ KM, using after market rims and I don't have bearing issue.

Ya. I agreed that. I don't feel happy with their service.
Do you know where can I file a complaint against this issue?
Where is it the headquarter for the SC?
*
Yes do it, make a complaint. I think the TCEAS at PJ is HQ for after sales. Check this link. I've made a complaint regarding my dealer to custserv@tceas.com before, and their response is quite fast. Try to send a complaint email first, I'll teach you how to threaten the management if they do not attend to your complaint after 1 week. vmad.gif

Thanks.
I've sent the complaints to that email last week and got the reply the next day.
However, in the replied mail, they said they will first do the verification and checking for me and will get back to me.
It is more like a general replies without solution.

What should I do now?
*
since the reply was "they will first do the verification and checking for me and will get back to me." I guess you should wait a few days and see how it goes.

who have been to service their car lately?

last when I send my car for bearing warranty, the SA tell me that they no longer use Castrol.

they have change to idemitsu
*
I did my 20,000KM service on last Saturday. Yes, Nissan has switched to new 0W-20 engine oil called Nissan Genuine Oil, not sure how good it is doh.gif but I feel that the engine is definitely much smoother and lighter right now. So the new oil is from Idemitsu?

regret bought this car... vmad.gif  vmad.gif ...hate TC..always putar belit...i remembered when 1st time i went to their showroom..they showed me service price for almera..now they change and make it 3x cost!
*
from what I can see in your receipt, the major costs should have came from aircond service: Item 8-11 and you can opt out item 15 "power maintenance package" in future services to save some money.

QUOTE(dannychen @ Jun 30 2014, 09:41 PM)
what is the "power maintenance package" all about? and how much does it cost? I also feel it is ridiculous for them to advertise such a low service package on their website/service menu at branch and finally quote such a high price.
*
They are additives for your engine, such as HOSPWER restorer and VALCLEAN. I personally think that it is unnecessary to include these additives, so long as you send your car to service on time.

What do you think? My car is model 2013...not until one year kaw kaw drop...before this insured RM70k for VL but now? This got quote from LonPac, panel insurance Nissan.
*
QUOTE(kengsim @ Sep 3 2014, 02:37 PM)
That's why I bought 2nd hand. New would've cost RM92k, but just 2 years and I bought it for RM65k. If you want good resale you should've looked at Toyota or Honda.

Anyway, it's just "paper loss" unless you decide to sell it. If you're happy with the car, just drive it for a few more years and then change to something else.
*
QUOTE(beyond86 @ Sep 3 2014, 04:38 PM)
Nissan car all the time not good in resell value, need atleast after 5 years sell only not loss too much
Anyway, hope can get my car next week, 1.5VL
*
QUOTE(ahchun @ Sep 3 2014, 07:56 PM)
look for vios or City for better RV> almera dont have that

if you did your research properly on Nissan car RV
they never have a good RV. not in sentra, xgear. livina or even slyphy
*
Relax bros. I received the renewal notice from Lonpac too and check out what they recommended me on the new sum insured? Price appreciation instead of depreciation brows.gif I guess I should call up to check the latest sum insured before I renew. My Almera is good so far and I haven't encountered any of the infamous lose exhaust fitting and bearing issue. Piece of advice to potential buyers out there: as long as you're not expecting too much on the performance, Almera is a very comfortable and reliable car. Trust me, your passenger would always love to travel with you in an Almera.
