bro shawty. I managed to boot at 4-4-3-8 after adding voltage sampai 2.45 V. This is strange.
Is there any foul play here bro. You know, perhaps sumbody sold me a faulty RAM? |

After done some research bout this supertalent ram, now i know that it is an SPD ram. SPD stands for Serial Presence Detect, which is the firmware for a memory module. Basic information on the module like manufacturer, clock speed, latency values, capacity, and architecture are programmed by the module manufacturer in a small EEPROM chip on the module. When your system boots up, this data is fed into the brains of your system so it knows what memory you have installed. So bassically, this SPD will set the lowest value for the ram when it is initially installed so that it'll work in any mobos.
Managed to boot at 2.2V. Correction: Needed to boot at 2.4V tho to make its stable at 4-4-3-8. Running orthos 5 hours now and no error whatsoever. But still, the vdimm is quite high for my supertalent to reach 968Mhz tho. Most website reviewing this supertalent ram only used vdimm around 2.1 to achieve that speed using aggressive timing of 4-4-3-8. Stil makes me feel strange tho This post has been edited by nadeng1987: Dec 12 2007, 02:43 AM |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 13 2007, 01:59 AM) That's because those reviewers reviewed those supertalent while they are still using Micron D9GMH chipsets. How do you know mine is promos? Was the ram yours before mr.shawty? Yours is on ProMOS chipset, that's why u need higher vdimm's. Nway, I dropped a bit fsb, made my cpu running at 2.835Ghz no added vcore, and run my ram to 945Mhz 4-4-3-8-11 @ 2.2V. That's 0.2 of vdimm decrement. The performance dont really decrease that much tho. Only lost 0.05 seconds in super pi 1M compared to 968Mhz 2.9Ghz system. Now im sticking with this setup. My ram wont go that hot la with 2.2V and it's stil in its recommended vdimm. This post has been edited by nadeng1987: Dec 13 2007, 02:45 AM |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 13 2007, 04:09 AM) Refer to the DDR2 ram list. Now i get it.Only the early batches of Supertalent DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz uses Micron D9GMH, what you get isn't the early batches, around 4th to 6th batch. I know because that ram came from me, i bulk it last time. It was from you>ahsiah>ijan_hackers>me Nway bro, mine to tell me how much u sold last time around? |

The great table provided by soulfly and also in am2 thread gives people a hint and clue b4 start buying hardwares. Well, it helped me a lot back then.
