hi all.. i am upgrading my computer and have decided on ASUS M2A-VM HDMI AMD x2 6000+ i don't play any sort of games and the 690G should be more than enough for the Vista Aero? please advise on this too now the unsure part is DDR2 RAM, i want to know according to AMD spec, the 6000+ is designed to run on DDR2 667 or DDR2 800? is the DDR2 667 designed run 1:1 in sync of memory with bus speed? please advise, i know this may sound real stupid but i need to know as i plan to make the purchase in a week or so.. thanks This post has been edited by betaiso: Oct 22 2007, 01:14 AM

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Oct 22 2007, 01:32 AM) Every AMD processor can do DDR800. Get the ram w tight timing would be nice IMO. -pWs-ok, by the way, is the DDR2 667 designed run 1:1 in sync of memory with bus speed?

QUOTE(likito @ Oct 22 2007, 04:15 PM) no 1:1 , 1:1 only available on intel platfom AMD is CPU/RAM 667 devider 667/2 = 333.33 example 2000/333.33= 6 (6) ram mutiple 2000/6 = 333.33 , so ur ram run full speed let said ur proc is 2600mhz 2600/333.33 = 7.8 (8) ram mutiple 2600/7 = 325 , ur ram running at 325MHz , but doesn't affect alot performance , human eye can see the effect .. thanks for the explanation, appreciate very much.. i am going to buy 6000+ so.. 3000mhz/333.33 = 9.00009 (9) ram multiple? and the ram run at 333mhz if i get DDR2 800 then it will be 3000mhz/400 = 7.5 (8) ram multiple? and the ram run at 375mhz? and if i buy DDR2 533 then 3000mhz/266.66 = 11.25 (12) ram multiple and the ram speed would be 250mhz?
