guys, few quick questions to ask:
for a pair of d9gmh (average class, not top class) 1.) how much voltage needed to do DDR800 @ 4-4-4-x? 2.) how much voltage needed to do DDR1000 @ 5-4-4-x? 3.) how high it can go & amount of juice needed? i'm currently considering to upgrade to d9gmh from d9dcl, please give some inputs whether it's worth it or not, thanks... my pair of d9dcl can do: 1.) DDR800 @ 4-4-4-8 w/ 2.05v 2.) DDR850 @ 4-4-4-8 w/ 2.20v 3.) DDR1000 @ 5-4-4-15 w/ 2.20v This post has been edited by ah_khoo: Dec 19 2007, 08:49 AM |

QUOTE(kmarc @ Dec 19 2007, 05:14 PM) Definitely the D9GMH will OC higher but in terms of real-world app, it won't be noticeable. if that's d case i think i'll just stick to my d9dcl, but what i like bout d9gmh is d bling bling.... balistix tracer... i rike... My crucial ballistix DDR2-800: DDR800 @ 4-4-4-8 @ 1.8v - bootable into windows but never tried stability (because not planning to run so low!!!) DDR 950mhz @ 4-4-4-4 @ 2.1v (was running 24/7 at this setting before changing to the setting below) ---- note 4-4-4-4 and NOT 4-4-4-8!!! DDR 1051mhz @ 5-4-4-8 @ 2.1v (was running 24/7 at this setting) Why not 2.2v? Hehe.... don't want to run so high..... Now running crucial 10th anni, not as good as my ballistix, probably not a good batch... Added on December 19, 2007, 5:16 pm What mobo? You can google the information or go to their website to check the specs. IINM, a lot of mainstream mobos support DDR2-800 but can OC higher than that. Added on December 19, 2007, 6:26 pmNice article on tRD (aka performance level) : http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel...aspx?i=3184&p=8 @ general_odin: get yaslef a pair of DDR800 will do if d price diff is big between DDR800 & DDR1066. most mobo that are c2q compatible support DDR1066. correct me if i'm wrong. QUOTE(msyafiq_m @ Aug 19 2008, 04:56 PM) huhu kinda mislook the timing part..thought that he was running on cl5 by looking at his frequency and SPi result.. even with 5-5-5-x @ that speed (ddr1200), u still need alot of juice, prolly 2.2~2.4v (could be more depend on d capability of d ram) to be prime stable, unless u have a pair of gem that can do high frequency w/ low voltage... QUOTE(moomoojojo @ Aug 19 2008, 05:50 PM) @ah_khoo u used 9.5 multi while doin DDR1200 on ya ram. ya ram tend to run lower than d speed cpu-z showed due to d .5 multi. d only way to tell d diff is to do mem. bandwidth benchy. now ah_khoo admit he still with amd..haha..anyway bro..whats mean by 'half multi'?..haha..dun understand.. |

T_T QUOTE(akuinsan @ Aug 20 2008, 12:55 PM) hi... wanna ask some simple question... i would go for d one need lower voltage for 24/7 setup. i try O.C my value kingston ddr2 667 what is the best setting for me... FSB - 350Mhz between -RAM Divider = 2 -RAM MHz = 700Mhz -timing = 4-4-4-15 OR -RAM Divider = 2.4 -RAM MHz = 840MHz -timing = 5-5-5-15 which one is more advantage/good/realiable? QUOTE(moomoojojo @ Aug 20 2008, 01:20 PM) no harm if it can do what is d best for you. |
