QUOTE(a1098113 @ Dec 22 2007, 10:14 AM) there is an option in the bios.. at the softmenu(for the E-series). Its called the DRAM:FSB ratio. i dont think u can unlink it due to the FSB architecture. Yep,only have strap,no unlink option

QUOTE(cscheat @ Jan 8 2008, 09:16 PM) my crucial ballistixs do 1000Mhz at 4-4-4-12 2T !!! only at 2.2volts I can do DDR116x at 5-4-4-12,2.35v but now lower it since i lower the processor speed due to temp and stability.

Transcend aXeram DDR1200,Team Xtreem Ram are also good ram beside Crucial.I think Dorminator is overrated and overprice.

QUOTE(a1098113 @ Jan 16 2008, 10:38 PM) dominator is a good ram for oc-ing. But its aimed for different markets. We here cant afford it thats all. So we go for cheaper alternatives lor. Team Xtreem is excellent. But Crucial and Team outperform Corsair.Go to Xtreme System and see.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Jan 17 2008, 12:57 AM) I think he meant other models of Corsair, not the Dominators? Anyway, I don't care about the numbers/benchmarks and real life FSB gain is what matters most No,Corsair Dorminator Cas 3 to be precise.Look yourself under Xtreme Overclock or Xtreme Bandwith. The Crucial is lanfest special.

OCCT pass 1 hour is good enough liao.As long as no BSOD,restart, freeze during daily use + 1 hour OCCT is stable enough already.

QUOTE(cartack @ Jan 19 2008, 02:59 PM) hye guys...an OC newbie here.... i just bought my crucial ballistix pc6400 ddr2 800.... cn anyone here tell me usually how far this ram usually cn go n gv me some tips on the timing.... now i'm running this ram on 945MHz with 4-4-4-8@2.2V.... Can go 5-4-4-12,11xx@2.35v on my tracer back when i have my E2160 since less stress to nb.4-4-4-4@2.35v is around 900+/-.Early revision with fatboy D9 can go even higher with tighter timing.

QUOTE(scpt @ Mar 6 2008, 01:03 PM) Hmm I'm thinking of getting 2GB high performance ram. Right now I'm using a E8200 with DDR2800 value ram, so far can only reach 3.4GHz. Between these 2 models, which is better for oc'ing? Kingston: KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 Corsair: Twin 2X 2048-6400C4DHX DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 None of which is good.Get Crucial Ballistix, these are WR ram and cost is below 350 which is good

QUOTE(BlackThyra87 @ Jun 25 2008, 08:18 AM) just got my Ballistix Tracers from shawty last nite. tested them, and found out that they are not as good as it used to be @2.2v i can only push up to 458MHz (916 DDR, 1:1) with 5-4-4-12.cant even boot at that speed with 4-4-4-12 .. while my D9GKX can do it absolutely with no sweat @ 2.0v... is it the ram or my P35-DS3 is holding it out? tried various tweaking but none helps. Refer to my sig for my specs. so the rumors that the 1gb modules chips got changed is true then, and high density modules are useless for OC (cant expect more like before - low vdimm @ 9xx) any comments? That is because Ballistix Tracer suck You need Xtreem 1066 or old D9GKX godness

Forget about tracer and ballistix. Most of it are crap unless some handpick gem like coolice pair of PC2-8000. Go for Team Xtreem DDR 2 1066 or Corsair Dorminator DDR 2 1066 2GB Rev1,sure no regret
