Lurking around lowyat for the second day, still can't find any good chips.

FP-C4 ones seem to be phased out and replaced with FP-Y5.
That's what National Service does to you. Wastes your opportunities. =.=

Trying to order something from yehlai.. Else do you have anything else to recommend Soulfly? Thanks ya.

D9GMH on KVR man!! Finally helped me break the 280HTT curse!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Currently burning in, overclocking and stress testing it, my way, which is seriously super slow. tongue.gif

I went around and done some checking, didn't dare to buy some of the relabeled ones la. To me I find it risky.

Probably the newer batches uses Microns.
1GB 533 uses D9GHM.
Older 1GB 667 uses D9DCL. Newer ones use hynix FP-Y5.

laugh.gif
I am happy with my D9GMH lu. Broke the curse, and still going strong. tongue.gif
What made them use Micron chips on their rams man? I thought Kingston got filed for a lawsuit about a month ago?

At lowyat. About a week ago they had some really strange batches of KVR coming in.

Two days ago All IT took in new stock, and they got D9GMH. 5 pieces got sold off in 24 hours. I checked around and found around 8 pieces in Sri. Got sapu by me, coolice and irangan. laugh.gif Newer batches might not be D9GMH anymore.

I'll post some test results and pics tomorrow. IF I am as good as the others. smile.gif

But frankly speaking, why is Kingston using those chips on their value rams? Hmmm.... Desperate attempt to sell off their rams to fill up the lost due to the lawsuit?

Urgh~ My D9GMH really loves voltage. Foricng me to do 2.4v from 450Mhz at 4-4-4-14-20 onwards. Urgh!

Currently doing 2.5v with 505mhz at 4-4-4-8-20. Let's see how it goes.. Priming. Don't wanna loosen the latencies that's why the voltage.. Timings.. later only play with it. brows.gif

DDR900 4-4-4-8-20 at 2.2v passed my stress tests.
Gonna try increasing the frequencies and see what happens..

Rather on focusing on what rams are good for OC-ing, focus on the chips instead. smile.gif

Kingston had been using Micron chips on their rams lately, with some having D9GKX (KVR DDR2 800) or D9GMH (KVR DDR2 533), that IS, if you can find any. smile.gif

Patriot value series are mostly for normal usage. Tried em before.

You can forget about Apacer. Have yet to come across any good overclocking Apacer DDR2 rams. Either that or I am just plain unlucky. laugh.gif

As for Corsair, results actually differs quite alot but you can hardly find good chips on their value segment.

IF you're going for hi perfo, most of them can overclock quite well. As long as they're using good enough chips though.

So the best bet for getting a good chip, highest chance is actually from Kingston. Sometimes they rebreand their chips, but mostly they will use Hynix on their 1GB/512mb rams. Currently the FP-Y5 sits at most Kingston 1Gb/512mb DDR2 rams. But let me tell you this, they like rebranding their rams so it'll be hard to determine. smile.gif

All the best to your hunt. smile.gif

PS: Hope no one thinks me as a Kingston fanatic. laugh.gif

ADD: Oh yea you might wanna try out Team Group Value segment. I heard their value rams can do 1000mhz on 5-5-5-15 2.1v if not mistaken. Not bad at all considering it's from value segment and most of their rams can handle that without any problems. Unlike Kingston which is, rather random for their chips selection.

1000mhz on 2.3v 4-4-5-20. No screenies. YET. Ever done around 530mhz with that timing but no point for me. tongue.gif Proc not allowing me to go higher. So I'll save the OCing for Brisbane.

Not one of the best. laugh.gif Bet I can burn in abit more. But well, too bad my processor won't go any higher and ddr2 dividers really messes stuffs up. wink.gif

By the way I didn't had time to post up my stress testing. Got so sick with my DiGi receiption that I ran off to the Computer Lab at my university.
Sigh.

Btw.. your results better la. tongue.gif
I can't go pass that even by abit. Readings at bios is 1100. Anything pass that will give me beeps or failed overclock settings. Hmm.. either this rams really can't take any frequencies above 1100 at ALL, or my motherboard dislikes above 1100. laugh.gif interestingly my rams are solid stable at 1100 though, memtest windows for nearly more than 12 hours..

Those don't look like D9 ram series right? Hmm.. I believe the D9 fatboy series are alot squarer..

Well, TEAM is a rather solid ram maker. You can find yourself those D9GMH chips on Kingston still? They might be harder to find now.

I would suggest you to grab the TEAM la. I find that it's rather hard to overclock my rams (especially from 533, takes quite abit of HTT) unless my processor can reach at least 2.9Ghz from 1.9ghz. ya know, AM2's screwed up dividers laugh.gif and I am using DFi infinity UltraII M2.
