err.guyz..plz help..i dunno whats happened with my rig..
recently i juz bought 2x512mb crucial micron ddr667 ram for jy14's bulk.. and i managed to get thru 2.6ghz, vcore : 1.6v vdimm : 2.1v timing : ddr667 CL4-4-4-12 * i didnt touch any other voltage and timing setting. after passed the 1M superPI, i restart and try to oc again..but no luck..maybe its becoz of 2.1vdimm.. but then, when i change back to 2.6ghz setting (like stated above), BEEP sound produced.. just now it managed to passed superPI, but after that it wont boot, plus there was a BEEP sound.. what happened actually? |

Get the Teamgroup Value ram 667 . I think Shawty's doing a bulk on it. I think the current batch is D9.

Rather on focusing on what rams are good for OC-ing, focus on the chips instead.
Kingston had been using Micron chips on their rams lately, with some having D9GKX (KVR DDR2 800) or D9GMH (KVR DDR2 533), that IS, if you can find any. Patriot value series are mostly for normal usage. Tried em before. You can forget about Apacer. Have yet to come across any good overclocking Apacer DDR2 rams. Either that or I am just plain unlucky. As for Corsair, results actually differs quite alot but you can hardly find good chips on their value segment. IF you're going for hi perfo, most of them can overclock quite well. As long as they're using good enough chips though. So the best bet for getting a good chip, highest chance is actually from Kingston. Sometimes they rebreand their chips, but mostly they will use Hynix on their 1GB/512mb rams. Currently the FP-Y5 sits at most Kingston 1Gb/512mb DDR2 rams. But let me tell you this, they like rebranding their rams so it'll be hard to determine. All the best to your hunt. PS: Hope no one thinks me as a Kingston fanatic. ADD: Oh yea you might wanna try out Team Group Value segment. I heard their value rams can do 1000mhz on 5-5-5-15 2.1v if not mistaken. Not bad at all considering it's from value segment and most of their rams can handle that without any problems. Unlike Kingston which is, rather random for their chips selection. Stick your face close to their display rams. That's what I always do. And found my D9GMH.
