the com cant boot? the ram burned?

do i need to change the ram voltage to increase the stability?
but OC the frequency of the ram, mem voltage must be increased?

when talk bout oc u need to try urself..cz its not be same as other result..sum ram can stable on tight timing such 3-3-3-9 or lower..if ur ram not stable on lower timing then u'll c sum like blue screen display or ur cant blend both proc n ram..due to increase ur ram vdimm u can check wat act the volt of ur ram can run..i wont get any prob to claim waranty if its running on par of ram voltage

I got a noob question here (don't get me wrong, I've read all the pages of this thread)

I just got an E6600 and I'm gonna buy a high speed RAM to overclock this baby. There are only 3 types of high performance RAMs which i found in lowyat that runs 800mhz, that is: Corsair Twin2x CL4, Kingston HyperX CL4 and Mushkin 800 HP2 CL4. From reading you guy's post i know that a Micron D9 chip is highly recommended. so now my question is:

1. By just looking at the RAM that still sealed inside the box, how do you know that whether it is a Micron D9 chip?

2. Do you guys recommend me to buy the Corsair Twin2X C4 4-4-4-12 2x1GB RAM? Which costs me about RM1150? or Mushkin better?

as far my fren using mushkin EM2 he can perfom well when oc..regarding ur Q to noe the chip u can open the heatspreader to cmfirm ur chip but will void ur waranty if sticker tear..but u can google from the sticker on da ram..like corsair got stated there which rev..then u can noe wat chip it hv..this mite b help i think HERE

should i just top-up RM100 to get a Micron chip? fyi EM2 is using Aeneon and HP2 is using micron D9GMH.

how u know...for basic info..pls used cpu-z...n surf around the net...xtremesystem is a gud place to seek...try n error is a must...

if ram latency to low...result will be not stable..BSOD..or can't boot (plus the long beep sound)...just set it back to the previous stable setting that u found...

the ram will only burn if u feed it with major overvoltage (more voltage more hot)..pls consider active cooling if u wanna overvolt it such as blowing fan to it...

e6600 don't need ram that can OC over 450Mhz..because using 1:1 (533 divider) setting like below:
9x400fsb
8x450fsb
already take u at 3.6Ghz...so any ram that can run between 400Mhz-450Mhz should be ok to used...no need high performance....if ur target oc is 3.2Ghz...ur ram will only at 356Mhz (PC5400 DDR667 can do it n its more cheap than PC6400 DDR800)....unless u r using e6300 than ur ram have to be the one that can hit 500Mhz above...like the d9 chip...n as u know to hit the number...u have to feed it with voltage...

there is mushkin that can run at CL4...cycom selling it...i think its cheaper than the Corsair...
n as for ur info mushkin EM2 CL5 can run 4-4-3-10 at 400Mhz-425Mhz stable @1.95v only (don't underestimate the Aeneon)...y i know it??coz im already used one...

**futhermore ram price is dropping now....just select suitable for ur setting n value for ur money..

just want to share with you all that i saw EDevices Ram in My10's, opposite ATE. but not high end one. hehe... check it out.

Just got my 2 x 1GB Crucial Value RAM PC5300 using D9GMH from yehlai's bulk.

Initial testing. Running at DDR2 1000 4-4-4-12 2.2vdimm.

any of us here hav hynix FP-S5.. heard tat chippy can surpass D9..
can share.. might gonna take tat ram after CNY..

Hyde is using 2.2vDimm.

yea..i tried 2.2vdimm CL4 kenot mayb need more burn in
or mayb different mobo affect different oc also..
now running 5-5-4-10 @ 2.1v testing stability
i like this ram

2GB kit ddr800 how much.. kinda scared the price tag for now..
