even the 32-bit vista basic? does it need 4GB? as well? Anyways, i do know that vista is a whore with rams.. but.. hmm 2*1Gb is still pretty useful and not as bad as purported by cstkl1... what i am trying to say is that, having 2Gb doesnt mean youre pantsy.. anyways lets get on with the topic... and be more productive smile.gif By the way, any 4GB kits that can hot 1200Mhz?

yes they are confirmed d9gmh kits smile.gif always have been and will never change smile.gif

Added on June 26, 2008, 8:21 pmone more thing gamer, they are binned at cl4, which is average compared to the teams that were binned at cl3.. for ddr2 800 smile.gif BUt nevertheless, you can still do impressive cl4 speeds but with higher voltages.

i think what cstkl1 meant is that having 4GB ram does support heavy softwares and increasing capacity to handle heavy apps. Even though framerates matter in gaming, ur missing an important point here. The OS still needs the memory to run this games. So though your GC gives u excellent framerates, still needs the memory... so having enough register spaces would give the edge, and no latency.

it can b lower with cl3 binned team extreems... but its too expensive to get that.. i manage to hit 1044Mhz on cl4 at 2.35V

1~2GB certainly is not enough for Vista if youre running heavy on apps...like smp folding, online gaming and browsing thru internet. It will sure hit the 2GB or more mark.. Still, im sure 2GB can run on Vista if u manage your system well.

i guess having the smp really does suck up your system.. unlike mine. smile.gif only for web surfing and vb.net apps.

well dude, if you do think we dont know, then teach us. Coz i am still living in the age of Xp and 32-bit systems.. so if theres something new, where u think we r just dumb in it, teach us. We are not stuck up to learn.. thank you.

coz the effective frequency is 800Mhz/2 since its DDR(Double Data Rate), so if its 667Mhz ram then 333Mhz in Cpu/z
