usually low end Mushkins are using Aeneon or Elpida... but Micron is a possibility
and by the way.... all Micron DDR2s are D9 |

integrated memory controller runs at the same speed as the cpu clockspeed
just imagine an fsb running at 2.5ghz Added on April 27, 2007, 9:04 pm QUOTE(intune @ Apr 27 2007, 12:25 AM) I was told by the Team Supplier's it was Micron D9 Chipset.. Since they don't use Aeneon... it could be Promos. Also found this on the DDR2 chipset list.. Apparently Team doesnt use Aeneon. ![]() Team can use any chips they want for their value RAM, any IC they have in their inventory. But I can assure you the pic of Team value posted by michealelsie, that is not D9DCN. And the ramlist link is just a guidance, they can change anytime. You can find how D9DCN exactly looks like if you dig XS forum deep enough. It's rectangular, not square. This post has been edited by soulfly: Apr 27 2007, 09:04 PM |

I saw those Team Value RAM at C-zone... all of them are D9Gxx by looking at the chips. Should be quite good value. It's like... RM135/GB

it's either D9GCT, D9GMH or D9GKX... but basically they're based on the same chips anyway.

QUOTE(mfa333 @ Jul 14 2007, 09:27 PM) If you just want a D9 .... heck there are square D9 and rectangular D9, only round D9 which is not exist.Talking about D9Gxx here... they're square and have a yellowish dot on one corner. Well... some Elpida and Aeneon also have brown dot...how to distinguish them? Well in case if you happen to spot different kind of RAM on the shelf, try to compare them physically... Micron will have a bigger dot compare to Elpida or Aeneon. How big is bigger? As long as it's bigger compare to the other two, that should be it. Sometimes you can see four letters/digits on one side, either in clear or faded print. Pics? I'm lazy as I've posted a few times before so.... do a search on the net. Apart from the three famous GCT, GMH and GKX .... there is also GMG (lower density chip) and somebody mentioned GCN. Personally I don't know the overclocking capability of these two because I have never come across people who overclock with them. If you happen to have them in your hands, try them for yourself. That's the best way to find out. |

QUOTE(HaHaNoCluE @ Aug 6 2007, 02:22 AM) i had 1 pair of 512mb kingston hyper-x ddr800 did 920mhz at 4-4-4-12 at 2.2vdimm... so i guess it's not that bad... if at looser timing i guess it'll still climb a bit higher in mhz... i used to have a corsair value with crappy elpida chips that can do the same speed/timing/voltage as yoursplus... it's cheaper! now... does anybody have systool with older build? Get back to the topic please. If you want to ask where to find this ram, where to find that ram, please post in Price and Dealers Guide section.

Oxburg, Patriot value rams are crappy rams for overclocking. There's no point for you to feed 2.3V to those which only run 4-4-4 timing at less than DDR2-800. You'll only shorten their lifespan that way.

Cheapo value chips usually don't respond well to voltage increment, like your RAM. It will shorten the life faster. It's different with chips which overclocks well with additional voltage.
How much did u pay for that Patriot? My cheapo no-heatspreader plain looking Crucial value DDR2-667 overclocks way better than that, at 2.2V only. |

It's either your RAM is crappy, or there's something very wrong with your setting...
Nobody could help you unless you post a screenshot or something. And I bet you're running with 1T command rate which is holding back your RAM a lot This post has been edited by soulfly: Dec 30 2007, 12:21 AM |

QUOTE(Oxburg @ Jan 3 2008, 12:40 AM) my suggestion is:- drop your cpu multiplier to 10x and increase your htt speed. - reduce your hypertransport multiplier to 3x - set tRC to 21clk - reduce vdimm to 2.2v and start work on your ram from there. your hypertransport speed is currently a bit high. |
