My 2 cents.

I think it's about time people here understand the tradition of this club, at least during SAF era, or what can be traced back since the Busby era or earlier. We always do things the hard way. We never had oil money to throw around. Sure once in a while we bought some expensive world class player, but this has never been our tradition. Our tradition is to develop young players and turn them into winners. And to appreciate those players that are loyal servants to the club and those that give their all on the pitch. The same principle can be applied when it comes to a new manager.

So if some people here hoped for some super special expensive world class manager to run the club - good luck with that. SAF is a legend with a long list of accomplishments. It is going to be a big pair of shoes to fill no matter who the board chooses. So when it comes to Moyes, it is a learning process for him and his backroom staffs. It is a big jump coming from Everton to a big club with such tradition, history and accomplishments. People easily forget SAF farewell speech at OT just a few months ago, because he knows it is going to be hard for the new manager even when he inherits the defending EPL champions.

Ok we as fans sometimes don't agree with Moyes' tactics, substitutions etc. Ok I don't agree that he changed almost all the backroom staffs - I like to make a comparison to the All Blacks rugby team because I also follow them quite closely, when Hansen took over Graham Henry as the head coach there is so much continuity there along with the backroom staffs. Ok Moyes also make many other bizarre decisions.
But to call for his head after just 8 EPL games, and to start calling him names, this is just unacceptable and totally uncalled for.

Those here that don't understand the tradition of this club and what it means to support United, I strongly suggest you guys to read up. Information is a just a google away. Biographies by SAF, Gnev, Cantona etc are also good.

When sir alex started.. the team was quite a mess... moyes has the privilege to manage so many good players in hand.. if werent for the glazers we will be spending crazy money by now... after all we are the one of the richiest club with the most fans in the world... plus... sponsor after sponsor just to clear off glazers debt has limit our clubs potential... basically they are milking the club.. they bloody bought club with banks money how smart is that? and now us fans have to bear their burden.. I'm not asking that much from moyes... i want him to start winning games and finish top 4 that is all.. but right now I don't see that happening. If we ever drop off from the champ league... he will get more bashing as you are talking about a team that won the premier league last year, to not finish top 4 is just disgraceful. Not just that, I'm pretty sure rooney will leave this time for sure... and maybe rvp kagawa and chicharito.... not a pleasurable sight you see? Now we already have problems attracting world class players.. all thanks to the glazers once again.. this is modern football... tradition is tradition but we need to learn how to evolve.. barcelona did, real madrid did, bayern munich did, that is why they are ahead of us every single time.. but we are stuck with the glazers... I don't blame moyes its all the glazers fault.. we need an owner that doesn't milk the **** out of us..

Kagawa played > checked
Hernandez played > checked
played some exciting footies > checked
no safety 1st approached at home > checked
3 points in bag > checked

goals are missing but last time i recalled my primary school teacher taught me not to be too greedy so content i must. d team is far from bein top notch but if improvement like this can't excite us then we are asking something which we can't see until we're playin like gunner, at least.  tongue.gif

Powell is playing really well with Wigan right now. Scored a couple of good goals. More midfield muscle next year but he plays in the same role as Kagawa?

Edit : apparently Phil Neville was present at the game last night

Our backfour was abit shaky but I'd really like to see Moyes stick with Jones + Evans partnership. Smalling did OK but RB is never his best position. It's understandable thou Moyes put him there insteadof Rafael coz Stokes forwards are pretty big/tall.  smile.gif

not to defend Kagawa but to say he seemed to be dull is harsh. I thought he played very well in 1st half, faded in 2nd half especially when Moyes start to put more attacking players onto d pitch. Nani should buckle up coz Januzaj can easily take his spot goin by d rate he is playin now. He just made passing (be it long or short) seemed so... effortless...  notworthy.gif

great win & glad to see Moyes made d right call again. Not d best win but one hell of a match. bring back d fighting spirit...  thumbup.gif

harsh for thte fans to boo nani... he did some how provided the first goal.... he need to step up though... made so many crucial mistake..

agreed on the slump n high wages on young...but if moyes can squeeze him to get back to his 1st season form...it wud be fantastic...i wud say anyone from our squad will be in starting lineup in any other team in BPL...his injury n form doesnt help his confidence...but for me...from our winger dept...young is different type of winger compared to other senior winger...toni rely on speed n strong stance...nani pulse dribbling beat oppo...young on his best form...he carried the ball n take on oppo...something that i think we lack when all the forward hav make run to oppo defen line...if u look at stoke game where they defend deep...around the 80 minutes...chica rvp roon kags...all on defen bay...adnan do the dribbling on the right to send crosses...carrick sit in the middle try to pull string n open play...but got nowhere cos nobody try to bring the ball in n take on oppo in small space...the forward were static waiting for carrick to pull the string...and no to avail...it force roon n rvp to drop deep to make something...if young is in his best form...he can take on defender at ease...if he can apply it at times in the middle...it wud be great...it a dimension that we lacks in the middle...someone to take on oppo in the middle...ala cesc,modric,ramsey,wilshere,ozil...atm...carrick n afro more to simple passer n protect back 4 n winning ball...clev shud be the one explore it...ando can do it if he is back to his best...if moyesy can revive young...he can be similar to osman n pienaar...zaha hav a lil bit of young trait in dribbling...

all in all...i hope moyes squeeze the team potential to its max before let go some player...revive the player to their best...n the player need to step up as well...tho i think some quality can be add if available...

juz my 2 cent in the longkang...

I don't think he is that impressive on his first year.... yes he scored a couple of goals but he had more drawbacks than good games..not worth the wages and transfer fee...

Moyes' advice for Januzaj

David Moyes does not feel that Adnan Januzaj needs to be afforded protection by referees despite being on the sharp end of a few bruising challenges at Fulham.

The exciting teenager appeared to be the victim of a stamp from Sascha Riether in the closing stages when trying to hold onto the ball but the offence was understandably missed by referee Lee Probert, who instead had to deal with the flare-up that followed.

Januzaj was clearly incensed with the incident and Marouane Fellaini was also aggrieved on his behalf but the manager is keen for the Old Trafford prodigy to concentrate on hurting teams with his football.

"We are never going to ask for protection because we want him to get up," explained Moyes to MUTV. "We don't want him to go down easily. We've told him that is not what we want - we need him to go on because he's got great balance and ability.

"There were a couple of times when fouls could have been given against him but they were not forthcoming. We want people to realise this is a really honest boy who is not intent on going down. If he doesn't get the fouls, he just needs to live with it and get on with the game by chasing and winning the ball back."

In terms of the incident involving Riether, the manager did not have a clear view, stressing: "I could not see it from the dug-out."
I don't like the way he address this.. that stamp on januzaj was really disgusting..riethers case deserved a review.. what if that stamp ended his career? or made him be out for another 1 - 2 years just like aaron ramsay..he clearly did not adress this issue well at all..

Moyes revises Januzaj view

David Moyes has revised his view on the treatment dished out to Adnan Januzaj at Fulham on Saturday after seeing a video of the apparent stamp by Sascha Riether on the teenager.

Immediately after the 3-1 win, the boss told MUTV there was no need for the 18-year-old to receive extra protection because he was learning that the best way to respond to any fouling was to get to his feet and retaliate with his trickery on the ball.

However, it is clear that the Fulham full-back overstepped the mark towards the end of the game at the weekend, which understandably led to some frustration on Januzaj's part.

The Football Association have since confirmed that Riether has been charged with violent conduct and has until 6pm GMT on Tuesday to respond to the charge.

"I hadn't seen it until after the game," the manager explained. "The distance we were away made it impossible to take it in. It's a bad stamp and it does look deliberate. But that's for the referee to deal with on the day or, if nowadays they look at it differently, they can decide afterwards.

"I do think Adnan may need a bit of protection. He's getting kicked so I think he deserves a bit more protection than what he's getting at this present moment in time."

Moyes feels Januzaj has the perfect role model in this respect in Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who has taken knocks throughout his career but, despite his small frame, rides the challenges and is quick to bounce to his feet.

"We've spoken to Adnan about it," added the Reds boss. "He gets kicked in training every day and he gets up.

"He's learnt from the good professionals that he has to get on with it and accept it. He only needs to look at Messi, who is the best in the world at getting kicked and then getting on with it and continuing to produce magic.

"I'm certainly not comparing him in any way to Lionel Messi but the way Messi gets up after getting kicked is how we hope Adnan behaves.

"It's not a case of asking for protection but, somewhere along the line, if he's going to keep playing the way he's playing, then he's going to need to get some protection. We'll never ask for it - it's up to the referees."

Moyes twist his words again.... Last time he said januzaj no need protection.. now say need protection... That is not solid bro

He said that there is no need for EXTRA protection, i.e. he can be treated the same as other players and does not need to be a special/pampered case.

That Fulham player went way beyond that. Which manager in the world will say that kind of physical attack on his player is ok?
*
so whats the difference between giving protection and giving extra protection?? In football, its either you give protection or didn't give protection.. so how do you actually measure the intensity of protection? but put that aside i do believe he has done the right thing by saying he needs protection.. because in his previous statement his words doesn't seem to support the player after that nasty stamp.. he needs to work on his choice of words.. one thing i know for sure sir alex will bising bising to the whole fa about the incident.. miss that dude
