Nail biting stuff last night...but I guess the subs paid off....although there's a certain period where the game is hanging by the balance...it's more like do or die when Jose made the changes. In the end...great win and great strike from Willian.

QUOTE(franklooi96 @ Oct 7 2013, 12:29 PM) I hope from now on Willian will keep on shining. Then I can say that's what we're paying for 30mil. Remember he terrorized us while he was in Shakhtar? Yup, considering we were labeled as hijackers (by Spurs), I do hope that he continues to shine.....

QUOTE(guitarleo @ Oct 7 2013, 01:40 PM) started the second half with no motivation, no winning mentality. 1 goals up didn't secure the team a win. Right until 1-1, then only the team got the wake up call, classic counter attack for the team, great shot from Hazard, even better from Willian. The team scare the fans! oh oh oh.... I hate the stadium, don't know who design such a stadium. The sun rise and set from east to west, it never change, but why still ppl design the end to end of field from east to west? The sunshine just too shine for goalkeeper to open their eyes. That was the reason why Norwich conceded their first goal and Chelsea conceded the goal too. Consider this as tactics? Could be one of the tactics...especially when kicking off at lunch time. I think Anfield also the same thing......

Not the best start we had, but at least we managed to recover from it. Luiz have to be really careful.
Onwards Schalke....and City next weekend.

QUOTE(briantwj @ Oct 28 2013, 03:27 PM) What cup is it eh? FA or carling cup? I think Wenger will keep his policy of just playing youth players in domestic cup competition. Yeah, his eyes is definitely on the BPL now after 8 years without the trophy....this might be their year, but they have not really played any of the top 4 yet aside from Spurs, so after their matches with City, MU, Liverpool and us then we will see how's their title credentials. We were pretty quiet in the first 25-30 minutes in the first half.....and City have a lion's share of possession....but the sudden ignition from Torres did the trick. Rami and Lamps are doing ok at the pivot, but missed those crazy runs from Rami during the match, after the introduction of Mikel...he seemed to be able to move forward a little.

QUOTE(hidzwan @ Oct 28 2013, 04:36 PM) Arsenal next fixtures : 1. Chelsea (H) 2. Liverpool (H) 3. Dortmund (A) 4. M.United (A) 5. Soton (H) I reckon they wouldn't take things too seriously against us in COC. Some key players in the likes of Ozil, Giroud, Ramsey probably will get rested. Hence, i think it's the best time to rest some of ours too. Mata, KDB, Essien should getting a notch in this one So I guess the next few matches will be the litmus test for them, well wish them the best. I'm going to keep quiet at the moment....because at this moment, I have a FB friend who is always posting Arsenal goal updates there...like they will be winning the league. Tempted to troll, but kept quiet and wait.......

Didn't watch the match yesterday morning but watch the highlights on Fox Sports news....both goals by Cesar and Mata was good! Like I said earlier, we just keep watching, and let other supporters said what they want...at the end of the season, we'll see who come up tops...

Looking at last weekend's result, the lost doesn't seem that bad...considering Liverpool losing and the rest of the pack like Southampton, Spurs, Everton all managed to draw or lose. But the performance over the weekend is really sore to the eye. It's nowhere compare to the match against City.
Hopefully we start to improve in the next couple of match....if not I'm afraid Roman might pull the trigger (you never know what Red Rom would do).

First 15 minutes was pretty sloppy from our side, and there's a handful of Schalke chances that went off target. After that, slowly we settled in.
First goal was another mistake by the keeper, and Eto benefited from it (he's pretty good at these). Right before the 2nd goal, we could have been leveled with them but thanks to Cech who make a crucial save, we managed to hold on to that.....and bam...the 2nd goal...which is a beauty.
3rd goal was alright, Lamps setting up Ba...not the cleanest of strike but manage to find the back of the net.
Oscar did well I would say, tracking back with defending...and linking up with attack. A good win....and hopefully that translate back to our winning streak.

Was watching the review show last night and great game overall, although there are times that West Ham did threatened our game. On to Basel now...clinching the win and we should be good enough to be on top of the group.

QUOTE(kucingmainan @ Dec 9 2013, 05:11 PM) I hate to admit this but arseanal is another example of playing attractive football without sacrificing defense. Kosc - met partnership look really solid atm. And, ozil really is a superb player. Imagine if they success in landing Suarez last summer. But all they need is an injury and their capability will be tested......

Speaking of Cech, he's good, but he's not as good as he use to be. A lot of the goals that we conceded are saveable, but he doesn't seemed to be able to save it. Just like the 1st goal from Stoke during the weekend, it's sixes and seven from him which is why we conceded the goal, I didn't watch the 2nd half so I can't comment much.

Overall it's a pretty alright game, when the tempo is high, you can see the flow is really there but when the tempo came down, there's a few silly mistakes here and there. Overall it's a good win, although even if we lose, we will still top the table.
I think Cech is rested given that this fixture is more for formality, hence Schwarzer got the nod. We could have scored a few goals if Ba is sharper.
Looking forward for Monday's draw.

Yup, excited of the draw....I think it's happening at 8pm our time.
Anyways, again Crystal Palace over the weekend, I think we were ok but not playing excellent and if we play like that, we could be mauled by Arsenal. Hopefully we can do better and take the advantage of their current form.....

Although it's goalless, it's end to end stuff....and overall quite an entertaining game. 1st half performance was surely better than the 2nd one....but we defended well and a point at the Emirates is not that bad. Next 2 matches at home against Swansea and Liverpool, let's hope for the best come the new year.....

If you say we were playing for a draw back in August when we played Man U, I have to agree. But last night, we were playing to win, until the last 10 minutes or so...so I don't agree that we're parking the bus or playing negatively.

QUOTE(briantwj @ Dec 24 2013, 01:36 PM) Until Luiz subbing in, I don't think we were playing for a draw. Even if we are, Luiz will not take on the last minute free kick. He will just pass it near the corner flag to a teammate. Agree....I mean even with the sub, Schurlle could easily be the false 9.....

QUOTE(masterpoloking @ Dec 24 2013, 02:19 PM) huh? is this somewhat of a misunderstanding? from my point of view, both team played well. we have more shots but they have more possession, but dont forget this is an away game for us, always tougher especially our arsenal nemesis isn't here anymre ...and we're still branded as parking bus? if this is a parking bus then i think we should rephrase our 'parking bus' tactic against barcelona 2 seasons ago as 'parking 4 aeroplanes' When teams can't score against us, then we're labeled as parking aeroplanes.....
