I also shock. Nov/Dec time got hectic fixtures bla bla.. then only 1 change during midweek game. Mou needs to be more confident in the other players. Don't tell me likes of Mata, Schrulle, KDB are not good enough to play against Basel while aiming for 3pts.

I think most of us agree with what you mentioned about Mata. But IMO, Mata's attacking qualities makes up for his lack of defensive ability. I think with likes of Mikel and Ramires in the team, there is space for Mata in the line up. If Jose doesn't give some leeway in his philosophy, I don't expect to see Mata play soon.

P.S. I'm not against Mou or Oscar in anyway. I still believe in JM to bring us success, but it's hard not to discuss the issues when the performances aren't particularly great or consistent.

I'll go for more stability with Mikel in the pivot alongside Oscar. Ramires play wide, can interchange with Oscar and can cover for him. Both provide high work rate in attack and defense. Mata play AM of course.

When i heard change in lineup, I wasn't expecting Essien.
Anyways, great results. Didn't watch the match though, internet troubles at home. So any knight in shining Blue armour can give me a good highlights/full match link. Highlights as in goals AND ++.

I rate Mata as high as anyone really. If he's not as good as some of them, i'm pretty sure he will be.

He did mentioned this himself before this season iinm. The prospect of leaving CFC is in his consideration. I won't be surprised if this is his last season.

Oscar's out. We KDB, Willian or Schurlle who can come in. Not too shabby I would say. Personally I hope KDB gets the call. Wouldn't mind if Schrulle comes in for Eden, who isn't performing particularly great. Plenty of games coming up, plenty of points up for grabs.

Just finished watching Soton game. About Hazard, he might not be playing at his peak form but his contribution as BOTH an attacking midfielder and a wide attacker is key to our game. Even when he seems to play at a mediocre level, he's standard in passing, dribbling and ball control is a class apart.
However, given the quality of our squad members who play in that position, I don't think there would be too big of a problem if a change were to happen once in a while.

Mikel made few mistake which resulted in counters for Stoke. But still wish he takes a bit more risk in his passes to keep pressure on the opponent. Few times he got chance to pass the ball forward to someone open, but still chose safer option.

That time when he got chance to pass to Schurlle on the left and Torres on the right, he took a shot If it lampard or Hazard, i don't mind la, but zz..
