To be honest, Suarez will be the perfect striker for us. Can score from outside or inside box and also assist others to score goals, can drop deep and help out midfielder. He is currently the most complete striker in the world imo.

But I don't think we'll sign Suarez. Who to make way? Torres? Ba?
*
agree with this. i think he is the most complete atm. with his vision and clinical finishing.

i don't think he'll be another torres. both of them are totally different type of player.

its the other way around man. jt is the one who cover for cahill n luiz mistake imo. but yes, for this coc cup, i rather rest terry, vs arsenal is more important.

hahaha we already lost the COC.

moving on to arsenal..

this is a good reality check to the players..we always bounce back after we lost..so arsenal gonna be a game to prove something..
*
If later lost to arsenal, how liao? RA wrath might fall upon mou. cry.gif

But seriously, mou need to reevaluate his tactic. Our current tactic doesn't suit our players.

To be honest, I'm not that bothered by our lose to Sunderland. It's a cup game. Winning the COC is not as luxurious as winning the BPL. brows.gif

Let's not forget, Torres, Terry, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, all of them were rested. Sunderland of coz feel motivated to beat us.

Let's move on guys, I prefer we beat Arsenal and get the BPL crown.  cool2.gif

same script use by every team when theyre lose in COC. for me, a cup is a cup. we're in it to win it.

even if those players rested, our so call 'second string' is more than capable against the like of sunderland. luiz, cahill, azpi, lampard, cole, 30million willian, eto'o is part of this morning team. that is fa more superior than sunderland lineup.

totally agree with this.. we need to go for all win if possible. there is no need to suddenly cover up our lose with that kind of excuse..

i said this last several season and will say it again. it it still a decent season if we can win the COC rather than finishing the season with NOTHING.

i know chelsea is a big club, but COC is still a competition that we need to win despite the low popularity.
*
+1.

we're not buying world class 'second string' for nothing. if duwan to win it, let blackman play in goal. and feruz up front. let the youngsters play ala arsenal a few season back.

not to be negative, but i don't think we'll win UCL this season. not with this players, not with this tactic.

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Dec 22 2013, 11:17 AM)
Jose Mourinho prefers Nemanja Matic to Fredy Guarin, according to reports

Duncan Castles had an update on Chelsea's pursuit of midfield reinforcement, suggesting that Jose Mourinho would actually prefer Benfica's Nemanja Matic to Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin. Here's what Castles had to say on the matter:

There are two principal targets at present. Mourinho has again pushed for the recruitment of former Chelsea player Nemanja Matic, who Benfica are ready to sell in an effort to reduce their debt. Talks have also been held with Internazionale over Colombia international Fredy Guarin, who has also been informally placed on the market by his current club.

Matic is likely to prove the more expensive option with the Serbia international's contract carrying a €50 million release clause. Though Benfica asked €30m for him in the summer, they are expected to settle for less after failing to make any large sales this summer. Last week the Lisbon club announced it had taken an high-interest €50m loan to partially refinance total debt that stands at over €400m.

-Duncan Castles via Sulia
Castles has some decent sources throughout England, and has been on a bit of a roll when reporting on clubs like Tottenham of late. Unfortunately for Chelsea fans though, he's had a pretty lousy recent track record when it comes to the Blues. While I don't doubt that he's got a source telling him that the manager would prefer Matic to Guarin, it also wouldn't shock me if he's being fed that information because someone feels it's in their best interest to see this story show up in the papers.

While Chelsea's interest in both Matic and Guarin is really nothing new by this point, Castles finished his post with a more interesting bit that really caught my eye:

Chelsea may propose moving a player to Benfica as part of a deal for Matic. They could also negotiate away the option they hold to sign teenage forward Lazar Markovic from the Portuguese club.
I think most of us were a bit surprised when Markovic ended up at Benfica after seemingly being destined to end up at Chelsea. There were a few various reports that Chelsea had some sort of arrangement in place to take him to London in the future, but this is the first I've seen from the English media actually confirming that this is the case. Assuming that Castles got this information from his Chelsea source, it would certainly help explain an awful lot of what happened with that deal this past summer. It's also possible that this is just hearsay being passed off as fact, but I'd be a bit surprised if this particular journo didn't at least try to confirm this bit.

Regardless of whether or not the bit on Markovic is correct, it's at least encouraging that were still being linked to midfielders other than Fredy Guarin. While I'd be pleased to see the Colombian join the squad in January, I'd certainly prefer Matic if given a choice. As long as the club are doing their due diligence into the availability of superior players, I'll be pretty happy regardless of which one we end up with. Just make sure we end up with a midfielder before the end of the January window, m'kay?

so..Matic or Guarin?..It look like we might go to transfer market solve the pivot problem this january.. thumbup.gif

matic physical present is gooding. + an ex-chelsea player. would love to see him playing for chelsa.

it is better fpr the club to put buy back clause if we are to sell any youngster in the future.

'I feel at this moment he's playing better. He's showing me that physically he's very strong and focused on the defensive job. I don't remember one defensive positional mistake from Azpi and when you are going to face people like Ozil coming from the right, Walcott making diagonal runs or Rosicky attacking defenders with the ball at his feet, he's a player I feel has to play.' - Jose on why RB Azpi is our 1st choice LB at the moment.

Iinm, Walters bully him in the match against stoke.

A draw is a great result at emirates. A good thing that we manage to keep up the pace with league leader. The title is wide open for now.

What to do. Football game do end up in draw.

To blame the FA and opposition tactic for the draw is just stupid. There are reasons why manager is part of football team. icon_rolleyes.gif
