QUOTE(jloi @ Oct 18 2013, 01:52 PM) I'm holding it at the lens barrel since the lens has the two step shutter button and the zoom slider. Having a grip on the case is only useful if the shutter button on the Z1 works with the QX100 attached. It isn't. Pressing the shutter button the Z1 activates the Z1's own camera, not the QX100. Other option is tapping the Z1 screen to capture pics on the QX100, and that is more stable while holding the lens barrel in hand as well. Grips are not useful when the body is too thin. |

QUOTE(jloi @ Oct 18 2013, 02:05 PM) I see I see. Thanks for the clarification. But as far as I know the Qx lenses shutter button doesn't trigger auto focus right? It does. Two step shutter button. Half press, it auto-focuses. Full press, snaps shot. The PlayMemories app virtual camera button also works as two step button. Tap and hold for focus, and release for full press and snap shot. |

QUOTE(0126910937 @ Oct 19 2013, 10:38 AM) Not fond of posting sample pics. Or the whole idea of people picking apart my noob photography skills when they saw my photos. It's more of for my own. Sorry, my experience with the photography community here has soured my interest to post any of my photos other than photos I took as passing shots. The Android app Camera360 now works with QX10/QX100. Although compared to the PlayMemories app, this one is a bit laggier. You can add effects on the fly with Camera360, but that's it. This post has been edited by stringfellow: Oct 19 2013, 10:52 AM |

Bought an el cheapo RM12 tripod at Low Yat Plaza mounting the QX100 on with the Z1 as monitoring screen. Lots of onlookers asking what it was when I was using it.

Just came back from Saturn Zeil Frankfurt. Bought a couple of el cheapo mini tripods, namely the Cullman with smooth ball head and Manfrotti Pixi. The Cullman is ideal for video recording with smooth sweeps while the Manfrotto Pixi works as a tabletop tripod and when closed, a nice hand grip pole for the Z1+QX100.

Simple. At the risk of sounding like a douche, if you gotta ask, it's either not important to you, it's not within your budget or you feel that your funds are best spent on something else because your priorities are towards something else.
J. P. Morgan said it better though."If you gotta ask,...". I'm not gonna repeat what he said at the risk of being shot down here. |
