For clearer, more vivid pictures

From low-resolution videos to high-resolution movies − with Sony’s latest picture engine, X-Reality for mobile, everything you see on your display is analysed and selectively processed to give clean, clear and lifelike pictures. Three unique noise reduction features work their magic prior to upscaling, while Sony’s intelligent display technology optimises contrast, texture, outline, colour and noise.
Blazing fast performance

The world’s fastest smartphone processor

We’ve matched the latest Sony software with the all new, super powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 processor. This advanced Quad-core processor is 75% faster than S4 Pro and gives you maximum power and speed with outstanding battery time – run multiple apps simultaneously, surf the web with little loading time, and stream videos without a break. The Snapdragon 800 processor is asynchronous, which means each core is powered independently. So you get the precise amount of power when you need it, without wasting power when you don’t.

Xperia™ Z1 | Is the Screen as GOOD as Z Ultra? Judge yourself

They is mix up where got certain show Z1 screen still good, but nearly 90% is showing bad display due to it look like using TN/VA panel instead of probably IPS in Z Ultra.

Some said it might due to pre-production, but some user at China gfans said what they got is retail unit already.

So justified yourself whether the screen meet your requirement or not, as some user never care on Viewing Angle.

Me myself is particular on viewing angle as well the screen panel material. TN/VA panel is the cheapest panel type in TFT and it not only got viewing angle issue but as well intend given a much grayish display than IPS/SLCD3 screen.

Sony Xperia Z1 v/s Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Sony Xperia Z1 v/s HTC One

Sony Xperia Z1 v/s LG G2 v/s Note 3

More Screen Comparison

Apple iPhone 5S v/s Sony Xperia Z1
user posted image
The screen quality is ok and accuracy in color when view in straight.

user posted image
This angle is useful for me, as sometimes we do look phone like that.

user posted image
This is for testing viewing angle only, don't think anyone look screen like that.
LG G2 v/s Sony Xperia Z1
user posted image
As you can see, now even straight view, the Z1 screen quality is still not on par with G2 screen.

user posted image
Same obvious G2 screen is better.

user posted image
The output quality is complete washout once angle turn.

user posted image
Showing how washout Z1 screen, both phone in same brightness setting.

got some additional info for you.

VA panel is higher grade than TN. VA got 2 type, MVA (Acer made mainly) and PVA (Samsung made mainly).

PVA panel u can see from galaxy phone AMOLED screen.
MVA panel is what the Z1 having i believe

IPS panel will never catch up with PVA panel when comparing 100% black color, due to technology limitation
