Agreed. Too much noise in low light (not night shot). Not sure why it's doing that since they have the hardware, but it's a matter of post processing algorithm only. iPhone and Samsung are all using Exmor sensors anyway, it's actually good that these reviews are giving an honest opinion to catch Sony's attention. Hopefuly next firmware update will incorporate better BIONZ implementation, that's the rumour anyway. But I also believe the reviews are not taking advantage of the manual options available and are therefore unfair to the mass consumer

Indoor / low lightaken just now which is riddled with noise at full resolution but looks absolutely stunning on Facebook btw. Which shows in real life application, the camera does more than suffice and excels, but everyone just has to have a 8.3mm thin compact point and shoot /DSLR don't we?

Warranty not covered for sea water. However if you must know, one bugger in Taiwan dropped it in sea water for 4 days until a diver contacted him to return his Xperia V which was still working and in mint condition. And Xperia V was waterproof rated IP57, Xperia Z1 is rated IP58 which is even better so in real life condition, it should be no problem because the Taiwan situation surely exceeded the 1 hour, 1.5m deep freshwater parameter set for warranty

In that link, someone posted it as saying it's only water resistance and not waterproof which is not accurate. It is waterproof and can be used for underwater photos as I have proven in my previous post. I've taken many underwater photos before with my Xperia V with no problem. Therefore, be rest assured you can bring it into the swimming pool or river for that matter to unleash the explorer in you. Just be darned sure all the flaps are sealed and you're good to go

Modified my charging dock to fit my Z1 with Nillkin casing, home made adapter



Now my Z1 is sandwiched between to pieces of leather that originated from a keychain. Very snug and fits perfectly, good enough until my Ultra Thin Simplism case arrives that's tested to be compatible with the dock

Frankly I don't think all dedicated compact digicams can get this kind of low light quality...mobile imaging has gone so far since 2004 where it began its traction to become mainstream on phones

Night scene all the way. All noise is gone with this setting, but most details are retained But need to have steady hands, or have to rest the camera on something for sharp pics

Btw, I find it quite baffling that this picture displays a rather large DOF for such a small sensor. Look at the cropped picture in the spoiler at full res, very weird.

When you open up the album you can see 2 tabs on top, Pictures and My Albums. Your camera pics are in the My Albums tab.

One question, it's for charging only right? Not able to be used for usb data tethering?

The original charging dock is already slower than normal usb cable, you mean this one is even slower? Sometimes a lot of factors can influence charging rate, like running apps, background data etc so need to be sure & specific

Is it matte or glossy? I like a bit of texture on my screen that's why I prefer matte
