Mine about a month to get, I've upgraded to paid since then. Its a simplified version of Diablo/Torchlight with dungeonkeeper element. Its get really pain in the ass at higher levels where player dungeons are more well designed and upgraded. The pay to play element is to speed up castle building/upgrades, but does not affect your hero loot and skill when you raid ppl's castle (for now hope it keeps that way)

But the main satisfaction (for me at least) is using the playback mode to see other ppl raid my castle and failed miserably or smart enough to tank through/evade and rape my treasure chests then back to drawing board to tweak a better castle layout/trap/minions Drawback is waiting for victi... I mean raiders to drop by, but to do that you need to have accumulate huge war chests to attract people to raid vs using said gold/crystals for your castle/hero development.

This game got potential, but need to balance out the heroes as the knight seems OP then the other 2.

@moogle agree, it still lacks some 'kick' found in bigger titles e.g. items drop doesn't excite me as much as say Diablo or Borderlands 2. But again its beta, they may add new stuff or enhancements to it as we go along

I did some test on the game yesterday, so many changes from closed beta:

- bulding time is removed O_O
- now no need to use Hero's Tavern (forgot the name) to level up your heroes. now can level up normally.
- gold mine and life force mine are limited, and can be destroyed during castle siege
- in-game castles (not player castles) now have different background now. last time it's the same
- Wizard is now available in Open beta . a new hero is added, but only for Diamond tier buyers.
- real money currency now only for cosmetic stuff. even the booster can be bought with in-game gold only.
- now got 3 inventory slot, instead of 1. and my stuff from closed beta is still there

thinking of trying it. reading the game description sounds a bit like clash of clans? is it like that?

haven't played clash of clan myself. more liek diablo+dungeon keeper kind of game.

Stopped playing for awhile when they nerf some of the features. Looks interesting again now. I will compile a list of players shortly.

what's with the bad recent review on steam?

you can't please everyone I guess

- need Uplay account, not recommended
- my account got wiped, not recommended
- will be p2w soon (which is totally a hoax), not recommended
- i found a bug, not recommended.

I also found out new players have different features than those who participate in closed beta
- closed beta players will have access to all 3 heroes, while new players can only choose 1 hero and the other 2 need to be bought with blings (real money)

not sure if got others, hopefully someone can add them.

Yeah the Uplay one really sucks because all my friends are on Steam

make a castle so good, you can't manage to validate it

have to try few times before successfully validate it

that's one good thing about validation; make sure your castle can be beaten.

and seeing replays of people beating your castle is quite fun too.

Just started playing again, got wiped and have to start from scratch but luckily most of my loot still intact.

i tried many times until i changed my skills baru can validate.

kinda hard to get crowns now

all the high crown castles are either
- many one shot kill trap combos
- endurance test from start till end (traps all the way, no corner is left un-trapped)

900+ crowns now.

now i malas nak loot other castle liao, cos not many same level castles with similar crowns when i browse.
and i lose a lot of crowns if i die in other castles with lower crowns. dafuq.

and the system a bit errr kns lar.
got one guy, the castle level 14 no upgrade, the guy punya mage level 20 come loot my castle. success somemore. bloody cb lucky nia. then when i try to revenge, i get 0 crowns if i win, lose 40 crowns if i lose. dafuq. knn mcb.

relax, keep calm and ignore.
go loot other castles to release stress.


i just lower shield and let them come.
now got better chance to kill them.
though some keep trying many times until they succeed though.

dem i was rank 1 in my league.

then kena over taken.

the recent changes to crowns is nice.

now people cannot keep on attacking until they succeed liao.

i no attack people, today morning log in, +18 crowns haha.

my castle level 22 but can kill level 26 knight dafuq. can kill level 25 archer also.
too bad cannot see the replay for the 26 knight.

killed level 25 archer +29 crowns
killed level 26 knight + 27 crowns

it is a bit grindy eh. not much variety in term of castle's strategy. spam the puppet all over the room.

grind to level up
grind to get gold and life force
grind to get crowns (ranking)

castle defense strategy hmmm only a few workable ones.
many high rankers (lots of crowns) stick to "low level castle" strategy.

the top 4 highest crown is level 14 castle for example.

for myself i let my castle level at level 22 so my knight max level 28 only.

no log in few days.
log in, got free crowns.
yay.
