how to copy autocad drawings to illustrator?

hi all.... need help from senior or expert. Is it possible to copy autocad drawings to illustrator. If yes.how? i wanna copy only the lines n not the background. how??

first i think u have to convert the autocad files to illustrator file
then from illustrator u delete anything u dont want |
