WHAT IS EPF
EPF is a compulsory saving scheme to provide the employees security for old age retirement. 11% of the empoyee's salary will be deducted to contribute to the fund every month, on top of that, your employer have to contribute a further 12% (not deduct from your salary, but an extra 12% of your monthly salary).
EMPLOYMENT DOCUMENTS
These would include:
Letter of Offer: sets our your initial salary, probation period, termination notice etc
Letter of Confirmation: confirm your employment, give you an increment (if the boss is nice)
Employment Contract: sets out all the employment rules including salary, bonus, increment, termination notice etc
Remember, if your salary is below RM1,500 you need not be worried about the Employment Contract as your basic right is protected by the Employment Act. If you are earning more than RM1,500 read the contract with a magnifying glass and ask HR if you don't understand any terms BEFORE signing the contract.
That's about all, good luck!
