QUOTE(davidke20 @ Oct 11 2013, 07:06 AM)
GaGa got several variant, basically all of them uses different transmission oil depending on model

GaGa BLM Auto = GaGa FL Auto = GaGa FL Auto 1.6
GaGa BLM Manual = GaGa FL Manual
GaGa BLM 1.6 Taxi Manual = Plotong Wajia 1.6 BJK (Bukan Jenis Kampro)

Now you know, basically FL = BLM. Tapi, what you don't know the different between BLM/FL and FLX. Below are comparison.

1) Engine
BLM/FL = IAFM. Uses vacuum suction to control fuel regulator. More mechanical, but less accuracy. Engine management computer 16bit.
FLX = IAFM+. Uses sensor to detect air intake to control fuel. More electronic, more accuracy, better fuel efficient, safer for environment with efficient burning. Engine management computer 32bit.

2) Automatic transmission
BLM/FL = Traditional multi speed transmission. 4AT in our case. Each gear has their range of travelling speed.
FLX = CVT. 1 gear, multispeed simulation, unfixed ratio. Buttery smooth acceleration. Better fuel efficiency. Slightly expansive transmission oil compare to AT/MT.

3) Suspension
FLX suspension has been tweaked to sportier and basically have better performance without compromise comfortness compare to old FL/BLM. FLX front damper has higher dampening capability, where as rear FLX spring has higher bounce rate. The rest remain unchanged.

4) Cabin
BLM/FL = Meter panel orange lumi
FLX = Meter panel white lumi

5) Brakes
None of the GaGa came with rear disc brake. There are no compatible replacement rear disc brake for GaGa. Any of those tuner claims they can modify rear disc brake is because they cut and drill the rear axle to accommodate a disc brake from other car. Only FLX Exec/SE variant came with ABS. The rest of the GaGa doesn't have.

Basically, you'll need to decide what do you really need. GaGa FL/BLM already finish stock. Do not compare FC with BiBa, because GaGa generally yield few hundrad kilo more then BiBa. Other than that, for safety reason GaGa was built thicker/tougher. Performance wise, all Campor engine are controlled by Drive By Wire. At first, you'll experience weird feeling, because you're pressing on a SENSOR, not a cable. But once you get used to it, you'll start to understand all these are gud stuff. Enclosed fuelly link, sendiri baca the horrible fuel consumption story.

http://www.fuelly.com/car/proton/saga

You'll lose 1/2 of fuel efficiency compare to BiBa. No doubt, it's a safer, bigger, slightly more powderful car. You enjoy the comfort, better sound system, so as road/engine noise, and all that came with a price tag of compromised fuel efficiency.

Hope this help.

Well, to put it in Taman Linkin's context, FL (A) and FLX (A) also requires different oil... tongue.gif

and being Proton SC, pouring in the wrong oil specified could happen and bound to happen. In fact, it has already happened!

The engine seized due to a cracked block. Car sent into SC. SC have the engine replaced at owner's cost.

and the SC put in ATF into the CVT after the engine replacement.

dont ask me whats the story of the cracked block. I DON'T KNOW. I was just pointing out the SC pouring ATF into the CVT box only.

recently i questioned myself what's the function of IAFM actually.

It is a plastic manifold between the throttle body and the engine.

The sole purpose of it is to make sound after a certain mileage so the owner have to visit SC for replacement. If after warranty it makes sure the owner continue to pay Proton for replacement so Proton can continue to earn money nod.gif
