Fu~~~I unsure now....my gearbox 1st time change oil...since already more than 25K mileage not yet change.

From few different opinion and posting I saw here and in other forum owners saying the FLX getrag is using a different gear oil than the BLM/FL Aichi gearbox. I've search through the use manual but the manual there stated FL but inside stating the getrag 5MTT200 gearbox but gear oil is Castrol BOT something...but this is for the Aichi or Getrag?? not clearly shown...

I called to careline but end up I teach the girl about the different gear oil between the BLM and FLX. End up I got no answer. In other gaga forum all owners mentioned only green bottle for FLX but no one seems to know or maybe even bother to see what's on the bottle's label.

viscosity most common type is 75W90 API rating there's GL-4 and 5 but 5 has higher EP rating and Redline MT-90 GL-4 says can't be used on gearbox with hypoid type gears so now I also don't know if there 5MTT200 uses hypoid gears or not.....if I put in GL-5 I might end up destroying the brass syncros due to high EP concentration on the GL-5

Now what I know
75W90

Now what I don't know
5MTT200 uses hypoid gears? or not? (since Redline told me not to use Mt-90 on hypoid gear transmission)
For hypoid gear transmission need to use GL-5 not GL-4....I very pening now.... rclxub.gif

I can use others gear oil but I just use Redline as a reference.
*
IINM, mt90 is single grade transmission oil. suitable for rear axle. not suitable for the actual gear box.

that's why they state 75w90. so dont use the redline mt90.

most GL4 gear oil are also used for limited slip diff/trans axles

again, what to use on your actual gear box depends on what the manufacturer specified
*
GL4 spec is okay if following manufacturer requirements. I wS meaning the single grade Mt90.

single grades are more suited for rear axles.

multi grades like 75W90 are more suitable for gear boxes.

A short review on the side bar after a night of test driving yesterday.

After installing my side bar, I found that my rear is behaving better comparing to before feels like the rear and front is more connected. Before this, my steering respond and handling of the car is quite nice already but the rear seems to have a mind of it's own in following the front and sometimes sudden change from 1 direction to another direction prompted the rear to skip a beat compare to the front and it wanders too much. In the beginning I have no plan to install the side bar and I thought if I keep tuning the suspension the problem will go away but I decided to give the side bar a shot.

Now with the side bar the rear follows what the front do every time monkey see, monkey do. The front turn in, the rear just follow as it is and on corner the rear feels more settle compare to before, which previously felt a bit unsettle. Sudden change of direction is much better now that I don't feel the rear going off on it's own. Now the car is just point and shoot when I wanted it to. Yesterday main test was mostly doing corners and change of direction (situation where you will mostly get at hair pin turn and those left right left right overlapping turns you get mostly on trunk roads.) In which I believe the side bar is for.

The only thing I really hate on the side bar is the installation process. It is difficult as F*ck and I think clear indication should be label on the bar left or right and installation guide should be provided.

This is just my very layman experience and I think on next TT maybe can go for another night drive with davidke20 and let him have gave his feedback on this also.

nice. maybe serves a little more purpose than an ARB for our Saga.

torsion bar negates the ARB benefits anyway.

Weekend family day lar. U need to jack your car up entirely, so your strut tower will relaxed and both strut will produce negative camber. Prefer workshop do the job cause they got enough jacks. For example, jack the whole car up 1st, installed 1 side, then the other side slowly release jack until strut tower meets the strut bar length, then only force the bar in and tighten it. Once both side secured, ma gao dim lor smile.gif It's an easy job, but with proper tools and equipment, work will be less hassle. My previous installation done at Jln Bkt Kemuning, behind Giant Bukit Kemuning Klang - Teoh Brothers Toyo Tyres. Can look for Ah Hee for discount, say the Red Shawie rear axle always lari camber rekomen, he'll know.

Driver side masok 1st

Passenger tower usually shorten by few mm

FICD module taken off, to ensure mounting point is correct. Slowly release passenger side jack until strut tower align with strut bar

Tadaaa! Fit in ady, plonk back FICD module.
