So thats how a flat coated Pomeranian would look like? I was actually wondering if my dog falls into that category, well now I know

My dude is 6 months old but he looks like that lol wink.gif I don't think the ugly stage applies anymore.

I will say this though, he's got consistently great spirit and attitude and is a lot more intelligent, compare to alot of dogs I've seen.

I think my dog fur is more consistent. That dog, the mane is thick but the body is blah! rclxub.gif

When I bought him as a 2 month puppy, he really looks like one of those you see in the book. As he grew older, his muzzle grew more dog like. Oh well, I give it up to nine months. I hope he's coat will really be like an actual pom pom tongue.gif

Something freaky happened this morning. I found another pomeranian in my house porch. The freaky thing is she is the same colour as my dude---sable. Are sable colour poms common?

But she looks like shes suffering from malnutrition, and nearly botak. Her nose and muzzle is black like a pekingse (is this normal? hmm.gif ) but other then that shes got the flat coated Pom look.

I estimate her age to be less then 2 months. Anyway turns out a very 'far away' neighbour lost her and took her back promptly.

I think its kinda cute that she would travel quite a distance to find another of her own breed.

Well, the pup was definitely very young. But I'm sure she's a mongrel, she just looks so different when compared to my 'out of standard' Pom

Heres the picture. He's 5 months old

He hasn't really gone botak yet. My Nikon battery died on me but managed to get this snapshot

ps. This is sable colour right? I was told that the adult coat would be lighter

Anyone seen a wolf coloured one before? I really dig the silver one, gunmetal is my favourite colour rclxms.gif

Sx_wayne, mind telling me what you feed your pomeranians? (maybe its been answered before but I'm too lethargic to search through the threads blush.gif )

I'm using Eukanaba but actually thats what I was given (for free) so kinda stuck with that. Thinking about changing brand, cause the food doesn't seem that appetizing. Actually, the only thing that he really likes is ice rclxub.gif

I use a shampoo which had coconut soap as the base. He seems to like it better, although the reason I bought it was the over-empowering coconut scent takes over the doggy scent tongue.gif

I don't like it when shampoos (whatever kind) do not list down their ingredients-alot of pet shampoos do this. Sounds fishy to me.

Wayne, your black pup reminds me of one of the evil mogwais! hmm.gif

Speaking of black, my dog's fur is going through a darkening process. The light black streak on his back now looks like it has been dipped in tar. The rest of his coat is also deepening in colour. The whitish part of his fur remains the same. He is also sprouting some coarse and long looking hair. It isn't a lot but you can see it clearly standing out from his normal puffy soft coat. Is this the adult coat?

Mind you, I don't know how to differentiate between top coat and undercoat or what the difference is

I am using TropicClean for Puppy and Kitten

Ingrediets: Coconut Based Shampoo (can be read as Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or any of those SLS ingredients), Aloe Vera, Oatmeal and Vitamin E. Sounds so good you can eat it brows.gif

Depends on the individual dog itself.

I had two shih tzus. One was greedy over food and the other wasn't that keen into eating (in fact the latter was quite needy emotionally)

My pomeranian is not so keen on food too. Sometimes he would finish his meals, sometimes only parts of it (it isn't a big serving).

When I feed him snacks or ice, he would gobble it down hungrily Maybe its because thats a rare treat

how about this pom ? is it a pure breed?

Branching from Techno-guy's question,

I'm kinda curious. So for poms without the fox face...are they consider pure breed? Or are they just pure breed pomeranians who just happen to not have the fox face genes?
