Hi, My name is Inca. I am a pom n should be excited to blow my 3 candles soon. Unfortunately my excitement was short lived, cos I have contracted BSD. A couple months back I started to lose my fur at the upper back limbs near the butt and quickly propagated towards my rear back near the tail. Funnily enough my skin turned black in the area where the fur was gone.
My owner (actually my friend) drove me to the vet for a couple of diagnoses, yet the vet sang the same old melody: No worries! It ain't problematic. No fungus, no apparent skin problems. Some vitamins, a handful of fish oil capsules and hop! Off you go, and sweared that my fur will return (just a matter of time) and I will again be the most handsome pom in the world. But the hic is that I am getting balder each day. I told my friend to google my botak symptom. He cried out a river and told me I might have BSD (black skin disease). A still little known disease without an appropriated cure. Some specialists said probably genetic, some said hormonal imbalance,
Some even used the words i.e; castrate, neuter, spay could fix my problem. I am freaked out rite now. I don't want them to cut my balles. Can you pls help me?
Any good vet who could deal with it ? Thanks in advance my friends.
