Custom aosp camera in aokp, cm and slim bean have a lot option.
Can change shooting modes, scenes, and focus mode.
At least in 4.2.

Current 4.3 custom aosp rom their camera all back to square one, empty.
All the OS fan boys keep saying 4.3 way better, but to me, it have more bugs.
Apps like super beam which I use as s beam replacement don't work in 4.3.
Some tasker action are not supported in 4.3,
Camera is a obvious downgrade.
Aosp browser no longer have butter, scrolling Is very very laggy. Xda member admitted is due to lack of source from Samsung. What most people do is use dolphin or chrome.

Xda members advice me to use focal, and dolphin browser.
But in reality focal is terribly unstable and dolphin don't sync with google bookmark.

I'm still testing cm 10.2 every week, to check for camera and browser improvement.
But so far no luck. Using slimbean 4.2 as daily driver with yank kernel.

erm that is d sad place of android phone ex the nexus series ...... probaly my next phone will be nexus 5

No comments on second hand value but I'd say it is not so bad that you will lose a lot of money reselling your used sets. Compared to other brands maybe you will get RM100-200 less

Depends, imo LTE not yet have full coverage vs 3g/H+

viber,line,kakao talk,wechat,whatsapp,hangouts,chaton, even fb support call and message
i think the most famous on is whatsapp

install ALL of them might drain your battery due to too many push notification
and them running as service all the time in the background
