technic or non-technic ?

here's a teaser of what I did the last 3 days.



Can't believe I managed to pull this off. I attempted to build a LEGO Transformer using just ONE official set (power mech, link below). and not a big set somemore.

Oh nope. This Power mech is tricky. I once tried to make a MOC transformer using power mech + creator racer + city mixer..... but failed. Then I put them aside.
Only recently I was in the "mood" to try again after isolating them.

Its about time ! Been years LEGO didn't produce a City scaled car transporter. I would aim for Airport Fire Truck and tow truck as well. The blue tow truck is very refreshing. Haven't seen a blue LEGO truck in recent years.

unlike the "classic" warehouse sale that always lasted just 3 days many years ago, this in Empire one they make it longer... sure got the "hikmah" behind this. Im sure there will replenish stock as they are sapued off the shelves.

This TRU was once located in Subang parade but business aint so good.. they made clearance and it last for weeks I think , until they moved to Empire. got my Exoforce at 70% back then

Its not hard actually. buy a 3d printer, alot of raw material... then we can roll off 1x2 lego printed $$$ tiles. But this will probably kill off the City theme. No baddies, no robbers... no police.

I think whether any particular big set that ends up being 50% depending on its sellability. If the police station sold like hot cakes, they needn't apply further markdown.

Just my 2 cents.


My prediction (dont take my word for it, pray with me!!) .... the Lone Ranger Train set seemed like unmoved last week in Avenue K. I'll wait it out =)

And this minifig + riding small vehicle also hits LEGO SW as well. There are new balljoints there I can harvest for future MOC. Hopefully the price wont be so deterring .

I remember this idea was introduced in a Cuusoo entry before (superhero + their own racecar/mini vehicle). I suspect LEGO takes a cue from there.

Wow how I wish I can exhibit my MOCs there.

anyway... from the price list.... duno its good or bad news for me. Good is .... most of them does not appeal to me (jimat $$$) . bad is... I still need to scout for sets with light grey bricks to complete my MOCs. Wargh... dirt bike transporter is the best option so far... but still , why that also so little number of those parts??
