My budget is around 3xx - 4xx, my interested keyboards so far is 6Gv2, Ducky Shine 3, Stealth Raptor MKA-7, anyone tried these keyboards can give me some reviews about it? Especially Stealth Raptor MKA-7 because the price from review is bit >high =/

Or maybe a simple 1xx for i-Rocks K10 Keyboard, anyone tried it so far?

Yet another insanely overpriced rebrand done by our dear Armageddon
http://s.taobao.com/search?q=%C1%E8%B1%AA%...=itemz_20131015.

p/s: Just incase you don't know, the currency inside is RMB, which is 1RMB = RM0.52 by the time I post this.
*
Is that meant going for Stealth Raptor MKA-7 is a waste? Sorry bad English here sleep.gif

*EDIT: The taobao link you posted me is about Armaggeddon simply re-brand it and sell around 4xx?

Whether the board itself is good or not, we not too sure since no white rats here yet.

Back at the price, yar, something that retail (which normally will even be cheaper if you get the chance to nego, not to mention rebrander like Armageddon sure get an even cheaper rate) at 499 RMB (RM260 by direct conversion or RM285 by taobao agent's rate) in China but cost hell lot more for a rebrand in Malaysia. It doesn't sound like a good deal for me.

Thanks bro, glad that I asked my question here sleep.gif Will consider about other mechanical keyboards next time when I got my budget biggrin.gif

No worries, browse more and search more for the board best suited you before u decide, but for armageddon brand (Sonic Gear Group), I will just avoid that as much as possible.
*
Alright gotcha thanks so much biggrin.gif now what i need to do is test out the cherry mx (colour) switches and find the one that suits me the most like the reply below said.

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Oct 15 2013, 09:00 PM)

Mechanical keyboard means the input mechanism is by mechanical means, normally have springs.

Membrane keyboard is keyboard which using rubber dome most of the time, even scissor switch found on your laptop is membrane keyboard.

*Springs* Thanks for helping, now I understood it. Sorry if I went over-annoying here.. =/

Actually how do you guys start getting a mechanical keyboard? I'm just a newbie that know something about it and used to be target 6Gv2, but it seems like nothing from this thread =.= Is that you guys self-customized one? -.-

*What's the lowest budget I can start from mechanical keyboard? Any suggestion?

u find very little talk about SS 6gv2 because of it's bigass Enter key and small right shift and 1x "\" key.
in other words, it's not standard layout size.
anything that is non-standard layout size, will receive from very little to no attention at all.
main reason for that is, it'll be extremely hard on you to find a replacement or aftermarket keycaps should the keycaps starts to shine and look ugly.
*
Non-standard layout size = not Full Mechanical Keyboard ?

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Oct 17 2013, 02:18 PM)
I'd start with heavy-arm.com in Subang for a good gauge of prices.

Since MKBs are quite expensive, you'd see a lot of specialized units and brands. I'd say about RM250 is the lowest range (Rosewill) you can go for a full sized. Banggood has a few Keycools going for about that much and free international shipping.

I recommend that you go to a shop and try out the buttons. Different keys have different switch and feels so if you're gonna invest so much (relatively) you'd better make sure you like the feels first.
*
Thanks for your info ;DD So far I only tried the Chery MX Red Switches from my friend's 6Gv2 =/

non-standard layout size = not so recommended by the senior veterans here
it is still a mechanical keyboard just that we don't recommend non-standard as you will be in a world of regret when u want to replace them keycaps.
*
gotcha biggrin.gif thanks sial

And before you bloody say that you'll bloody buy the keyboard and you'll only use that particular set of keys for the time being, listen to an addict's confession here: It only took two weeks to realize that you'd wanna change the keycaps. Two weeks. Then you realize that you kinda need a TKL version because you don't use the numpad much... then you saw the Poker II and feel that even the arrow keys are under utilized... and then you hear about this legendary thing called the HHKB.

All this while you start reading about PBT and ABS and POM, and maybe you start thinking that those particular switch type isn't really that optimal...

Maybe you start thinking about Dvorak layout and how it'll increase your WPM.

Before you know it, you're like a junkie; spending all his money on keyboards and typing away on forums/message boards and preaching the Good Newsâ„¢.
*
Just.. sorry im not so good with my english, but i do use numpads when i gaming -.- i guess the overall conclusion is.. ask us to choose/research wisely before throw money into a MKB if "we (like me)" are new here?
