QUOTE(Human10 @ Oct 22 2013, 12:51 PM) Abang, you long time no update dy. The set above is double shot pbt by vortex/kbc. oh got progress on this hm...It works partially fine on backlit, especially for back set. For white set, it simply shine through like that on normal white pbt should. got youtube or pic to see But this is exactly what i was worried about "partially". The normal process for most back light keycaps use the laser etched method of keyprint i believe QUOTE Although our keys are compatible with backlit keyboards, the legends will not allow light to shine through. Our keys are molded from colored plastic. The legends are then laser etched/engraved onto the surface of the key. In comparison, backlit keys are made from translucent plastic, painted, then engraved to remove the paint to make the legends. Our keys will have a faint glow when installed onto backlit keyboards. Please see the attached picture for an example of our keys installed onto a white LED backlit keyboard. So i'm not too familiar about the other methods This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Oct 22 2013, 12:54 PM |

This is new, i never seen before ![]() http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r....&id=18956670109 See the keycap screenshot behind, is indeed double shot, but has a dotted opening my guess to allow illumination to get through. QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Oct 22 2013, 12:52 PM) oh got progress on this hm... The normal process for most back light keycaps use the laser etched method of keyprint i believe So i'm not too familiar about the other methods On a black set, the led can easily shine through the legends but not the keys, resulting quite perfect backlit (but due to the italic fonts, a few keys the effect may be lackluster and only little light shine through the legends) For white set, just like I said, the light simply penetrate through the whole keycaps, even the white part. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Oct 22 2013, 12:38 PM) is the characters been illuminated ? Or is it just led lighting around the edges in between in keycaps as i said the characters are partially illuminated if the keycaps is black.as for white, you can still see light leakage through the white part if the legend isn't in the same position as the led. i'm thinking of getting a black plastic paint and paint the back part of the white keycaps to prevent leakage... QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Oct 22 2013, 12:21 PM) seen through ? Yeah, the ori ones pretty sucky in terms of feels. Just black keys. Here's mine in the current blue LED under white PBTs (max illumination in dark room):I doubt it, because it's double shot. exception being the deck legend doubleshot that can show led illumination ![]() For Cherry Corp led, is not double shot. the printed character uses the regular print that normal cheap keyboards use ![]() The best you can expect is maybe led light showing through the gaps around the keycaps. And this is why the camps is separated for those who prefer led lighted keyboards, vs those who prefer doubleshot/dye sublimated http://www.ducky-nordic.com/sept/kvnc1.jpg *still drafting... Also there 2 category of led backlight keyboard. The cheaper ones have leds spaced out around the keyboard. The other type has a led for each and every key. Obviously the later is preferable because it has better lighting uniformity all across the keyboard. Here is a picture as an example: ![]() Some led backlight keyboard may also have a controller to set the illumination brightness, or change the lighting to be permanent or fade in/fade out effect. I think the Razer is able to do that, but they are using spaced out led lighting i believe. Ducky also has some special lighting modes ![]() http://www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/DK9008_shine2.html ps: the ducky shine zero uses "Laser printed dual layer ABS Keycaps" by default. And this is the definitive reason explaining the process behind keycaps that work ideally for led backlight keyboards, versus those that aren't ![]() QUOTE(justnits @ Oct 22 2013, 12:31 PM) the white keycaps are the ones exactly on your post. Do you mind taking a pic under darkness/semi-darkness? I mostly play with low-light environment and I use the backlight a lot. this is on my ducky shine 2 with max white led brightness [attachmentid=3686361] QUOTE(Human10 @ Oct 22 2013, 12:46 PM) Ayam got a set left unused. Later after I went home ayam deliver you the drill of it on backlit. IDK about that. Black will make the thing look a bit dark-ish which I didn't really like. Take a look at my top pic to see my current arrangement.Btw, black one will look better under backlit. White one the light will shine through not only the legend but also the white part, not too good looking IMO. |

QUOTE(motel266 @ Oct 22 2013, 01:42 PM) guys armaggeddon black hornet is it worth buy? Not the best choice out there. But if at RM2xx for a new one, then it should be the cheapest backlit TKL with standard layout out there in marehsia.planning to get one but no budget liao. saw someone offer rm2xx for this one http://armaggeddon.net/gaming-keyboards/black-hornet-black/ But again, it still feel like a scam for me for rebranding an unknown brand and later resell at a premium price... The profit margin easily over 100%. QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Oct 22 2013, 10:12 AM) Banggood is a good place to start (hah!): i prefer blue switch for gaming. And i love how keycool design with the LED. So nice http://www.banggood.com/buy/keycool.html Other than that, I suggest that you brush up on your Chinese and go taobao. Local sellers are Robotica toys and heavy-arms.com (they do shipping if I recall) but no Keycool unfortunately. I didn't follow your earlier posts so IDK what switches you'd want. |

QUOTE(tWice @ Oct 22 2013, 01:51 PM) Almost all backlit board also like that what? If you mean the blue + red combination, it is due to they integrate the CapsLock/ScrollLock indicator onto the keys, hence need different color to easily differentiate from other keys. |
