Hello Aro lovers....is Silver Arowana worth to keep? Its cheap in price and i see it looks not bad also...long body...is it hard to take care? Or same as other Aros? smile.gif

kamekame sama, silver aro very easy to keep only wow, but remember to cover ur tank, it like to jump one, and they r not picky about food too, last time i kept in 4' tank, and it grow so fast, but like to bully other fish sweat.gif n they almost eat anything fall into the tank shocking.gif last time i can put my hand inside tank n "sayang-sayang" it also, very tame one rclxms.gif but very kuat makan la sweat.gif but the eyes always tengok bawah one, i put a ping pong ball in the tank, n some sand at bottom to prevent it look down, n i seldom feed shrimp also, bcos it wil always look down to find shrimp sweat.gif i prefer small fish to feed, c it swim n chase after the fishes, the most garang aro i think is pearl aro la, never can share the tank with anyone, not like other type of aros shakehead.gif shakehead.gif but all r so wub.gif wub.gif

kamekame sama, 2 of silver aro sure fight, last time d boss asked me to keep 6 in one tank, but then stil fight like hxxx, but not very serious la, compare to the pearl aro n yellow tail aro sweat.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif 2 or 3 i dont think will do, either one or 6 and above la, i recommend.(just my opinion) notworthy.gif i been keeping aro for some time aldi, almost all r very easy to keep whistling.gif just remember to keep the water clean, n i use aged water/filter water. i never care about the ph, kh n gh thing, and so far so good rclxm9.gif in penang here, about 5" size, silver aro rm20, yellow tail aro rm180, green aro rm150-180. RTG, MG, IG,CR, and the rest cant tel the price cos it depends on quality of the aro whistling.gif how big is ur tank? mayb u just get one silver aro first, later gain some xperiene then only increase the number, just my opinion whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif hope this help notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

kamekame sama: u can google the pic, a lot there, i prefer red pearl aro, nicer! wub.gif wub.gif i am not sure the reasons but i think bcos sometime it wil hurt itself when chasing after the small fish, (ie "koyak" fin, hurt the scale, etc), then price drop lo, n aro poo poo so xxxx, if hv deco then hard to clean tank also, i tried b4 la, these r my xperience correct me if wrong all sifuu notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Wow...some very nice Aros for sure!! Yea that Platinum Aro looks incredible!! Anyway, is there such species as Black Arowana? I remember seeing it somewhere but not sure...anyone?
Kamekame.
p/s thanks for the pictures Coconut!!
*
ya there is one known as Black aro, when it is young the color is black one, the shape just like silver aro, but the color is balck, in penang some also called it rainbow aro, bcos beside balck, its also hv some color but not tat obvious, basically it is black in color, but when it grow bigger, the color wil fade away n look almost like silver aro, this black aro is not an easy keep type, need a bit of experience to handle. just my opinion, correct me if i am wrong, thnx.

kamekame sama: black aro need xtra care, n they r very sensitive to water ph, temperature n so on when young, not recommended for beginer. if u wan, go for red tail aro, its nicer n more secure in terms of money value. silver aro, green aro (hard to find in penang), yellow tail aro n pearl aro are very easy to keep ( i think so). i post some pics here for u (not my aros) hehehehehe, i got from net, just to share, peace. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Wanna asked U guys actually of how come mine (aro) has been grown for a year already but the front 'moustache/misai' still not appeared?!!  rclxub.gif
*
danieal: what type of aro u r keeping? if u hv the african aro, then no "misai" lo, if other types, then sorry la, its "cacat", no value liao.
kamekame sama: (i) black aro, (ii) pearl aro, (iii) red aro
normal green aro: when grow up the fin n body wil be just like white/light green color
green aro: when grow up the color wil be green especially the end of each scale can see the green color very clearly.
"nami" green aro: beside the green color is the most "darkest" among the same species, but the mouth side wil see very clearly some pattern like snake skin in green color. it is the best green aro among them. but is the hardest one to find, i been searching it since 3-4 years aldi. the below pics: (i) yellow tail aro, (iii) normal green aro darkgreen. the diff green n yellow is that when they grow up, the fin of yellow tail aro is defininely yellow, but green aro is white color. green aro is not cheap aro, the cheapest one is silver aro, kekekeke. thumbup.gif i borrow the pics from some sifuu frm other net, hope they dont mind.
correct me if i am wrong all sifuu, thnx. just share info here, peace. notworthy.gif

I have a budget of RM200 for buying Arowana
one shop near my house selling Yellow tail arowana for RM180.80 but after discount RM170 plus one Green tail Arowana for RM190.80
both around 5 to 6 inches long
others species like pearl and silver arowana range RM60 to RM100
the shop owner told me that yellow N green aros if lucky got many yellow n green colors, is that right?
i think i want to buy the yellow tail but afraid might get con since the color isn't convincing enough

so, any advice guys?
