It means that if you're still on Silver account (non paying account), you can enjoy some of Gold account feature, mainly ability to participate in multiplayer matches. For the weekend.

Checked my Malaysian Live account today. Still unable to access online multiplayer though despite the Free Gold Weekend. But Diablo 3 is already in Games on Demand at RM 142. Not bad.
