I see. But what about those reward point and such. MB2K has 3 years expiry date, but Citibank has lifetime reward points. And is AMEX widely acceptable? Kinda just started working a year ago so only started to have money to spend a little.

My experience with Amex so far can say 80% of the merchant in klang valley accept it, especially bigger outlets in shopping malls.

Correct M2K has 3 years expiry but with 5X reward it is still very good. Citibank only certain promo you get more else just the pathetic 1 point for every RM1 spent.

I have both M2K and Clear Card, M2K Amex is my main card and i will cut off clear card soon after 1 year+ of owning.

I see. Thank you for your insight. This will be my 1st credit card so have to be cautious with what I choose.

Still jumping around these 2 company. Would like to have an in depth comparison. Cash back, reward point and offers when going shopping and dining.

i would suggest you to go for mbb2amex. if you were mostly doing your groceries, dining, shopping, movies, petrol on weekends, that would be even better.

Even factoring in offers such as 10% off at certain dining places? Do note I spend roughly RM1000+- per month. With RM1000 per month, the total treat points after 3 years is roughly 100,000. Where as Citibank its lifetime and I can save it up till I really want to spend my points. And the offers for Citibank Clear Card sort of interest me. Where as Maybank has lesser offers. What do you think?

Yes, Maybe Citibank Card Privileges (Discount or Offer) are More Attract to PPL + Evergreen Rewards Point No Expired  but the Clear Card do came with Annual Fee (RM90) + GST RM50. Ya, You may Request Annual Fee Waiver from Citibank Every Year but Sometimes also Subject to their Approval, they give or not ... sweat.gif
Meanwhile, Maybank 2Cards will Benefiting U with 2 cards, Maybankard 2 American Express® Card & Maybankard 2 Visa / MasterCard, in 1 Sign up, 1 Service Tax, and 1 Statement plus, the MBB 2 Cards also is Lifetime Fee Waiver with NO T&C's Applied to... thumbup.gif

You can Accumulate/Earn More Rewards Point lebih Cepat: 2x / 5X Treats point + 5% Cash-Back from Weekends Spend with Maybank 2Cards (Amex) for Every RM1 Spent. Do Use the Treats Point to Offset Yearly GST or Shopping Voucher Redemption Even Use it for MAS Enrich Air Miles Redemption ... Although the Treats Point came with 3 Years Validation Period  icon_rolleyes.gif
As for Citibank Clear Card just Plain RM1 /1 Rewards Point
Furthermore, FYI... NO Point will be Rewarded on Petrol Purchase with Most of the Citi's Credit Card doh.gif

With Maybank 2Cards U Can Enjoy Lowest finance charge of 8.88% per annum on your outstanding retail balance. All you need to do is promptly settle minimum payment, 5% of the outstanding balance or a minimum of RM25.
Citibank or Most All the Bank CC with Finance Charge of 15-18% per Annum or a min of RM50

Btw, U can Consider also with OCBC Titanium Card as Spared - Unlimited 1% Cash Back for Everything + is Free For Life with No Annual Fee, Which is Good for the Place that X Accept Amex  wink.gif

wow, thank you for such a detailed reply. So factoring in all the benefits, MB2K would be better? I've looked around the Internet and most are stating MB2K to be the best choice. But my colleagues however suggest that citibank is better with their promotions and offers, keeping me right at the fence at the moment. Thank you again for your time and insight.
