Hi. I’m thinking to get my first credit card. Previously I only paid my expenses by using cash, so no cashback, no treatpoint. It is a waste.
1. Annual Income: RM40K to RM60K
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes
3. Card required for:
Petrol (shell) = >RM350 Touch n go = RM180 Celcom = RM70 P1max = RM99 Bills = <RM50 Online shopping if necessary..
4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil
5. Looking at CC from: Maybankard 2 Amex Credit Card or Ikhwan AMEX Maybank Islamic.
6. Others: For now, local use only. I prefer Islamic cc.
Thinking to get Maybankard 2 Amex Credit Card or Ikhwan AMEX Maybank Islamic.
Maybankard 2 Amex Credit Card Pro : 5% Cashback on weekends up to RM50 (Amex), 5 x Treat points for all transactions (Amex) Con : GST for both card RM100
Ikhwan AMEX from Maybank Islamic Pro : Islamic. GST RM50. 5 x Treat points for petrol. Con : 2X TreatsPoints on all other spend, no cash back.
Do I missed anything here? Or is there any better option? Thanks.

QUOTE(fly126 @ Oct 9 2014, 10:06 AM) If You Prefer an Islamic CC Why not Apply for Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Gold/Plat., the Card that gives back to Charity & Sends You to Umrah. With a Lifetime Fee Waiver, *Umrah Trip- One weekly Umrah winner (package for 2pax) will be selected to win an Umrah package (for Muslims) or holiday package (for non-Musilms) *Charity Fund -With every spending the Bank will contribute 0.1% for charity purposes *5% Rebate on Petrol & Groceries on Friday and Saturday, capped at Maximum of RM50/ Month (Principal Cardmember only) *Treats Points - RM1 for 1 Point (Local or Overseas Spend) http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-CardsThank you for your suggestion, I do consider it too but the main thing having cc is for spend not charity. It is not like I don’t care about charity. I do spend 7% of my salary for charity. 5% rebate on petrol and groceries on Friday and Saturday (I need to pump at least twice a week, so this is disadvantage for me and I rarely go out on Saturday). Treats Points - RM1 for 1 Point (low compare to other options).

QUOTE(fly126 @ Oct 9 2014, 10:43 AM) Maybankard 2 Amex Credit CardPro : 5% Cashback on weekends up to RM50 (Amex), 5 x Treat points for all transactions (Amex) as the Amex Earns Rewards Point more Faster than Others Card... Con : GST for both card RM100- Used Your Accumulate Treats Points to Offset the Yearly GST for Both Cards... https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=68551797 Maybankard 2 Amex Credit Card is the best choice but not Islamic. While Ikhwan AMEX Maybank Islamic does not have Visa. Hahaha Thank you a lot for helping me making decision.

QUOTE(adele123 @ Oct 15 2014, 06:11 PM) Just a thought, why not consider maybank ikhwan mastercard instead? In terms of benefit it is better than the amex version, plus mc is more widely accepted. Or hsbc amanah mpower? Or both(one maybank whether amex or master, one hsbc). At least you get your petrol rebate instead of just points. Hi.. Thank you for your suggestion.. fly126 also give same suggestion early.. 5% rebate on petrol and groceries on Friday and Saturday (I need to pump at least twice a week, so this is disadvantage for me and I rarely go out on Saturday). Treats Points - RM1 for 1 Point (low compare to other options). May I know if I have both maybank amex and mastercard, can I combine treat points? QUOTE(fly126 @ Oct 16 2014, 10:43 AM) https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=70775029FYI, HSBC Amanah Credit Card-i their 5/8% Cash Rebate (with Dining, Groceries, Petrol Weekends spend) NOT a Permanent Features of the Card... http://www.hsbc.com.my/1/PA_ES_Content_Mgm...ashback_tnc.pdf Ohh i see..
