1. Annual Income: RM100k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A must

3. Card required for: oversea spend as most of the time I will be at foreign country

4. Existing credit cards if any: maybank 2gold, Citibank clear & reward, uob one card.

5. Looking at CC from: no idea. Just feel if I'm spending oversea, there must be one good card which I can maximize the points or cash back. Even better if the card has unlimited airport lounge access.

premier is only good for air miles as it does not offer rebate, if you are a frequent flyer by all means go ahead else stick with Maybank VS / AEON Watami.
*
Cant really say is frequent flyer, ~10 to 15 times a year. but my time at oversea is ~90%.

the miles are extremely worthy with MAS business class flying to Europe destination, offering conversion rate of 4300 Treat Points to 1000 Enrich Miles.

So if it is something useful to you, for me personally i prefer airmiles over cashbacks.

One problem with the Premier is that you do not gain unlimited access to premier lounge in Malaysia. But if you are flying business class this is not a problem biggrin.gif

If you have the time, do read genxgenygenz blog to understand more.

With the premier 2 cards, you will get;

1. Visa Infinite (VI)
2. Amex

The VI if you spend locally you will be rewarded with 2x points, the points is referred as Treat Points (TP)

Oversea spending with VI you will gain 5x TP

For Amex, both local and oversea spending of RM 1 will earn you 5x TP.

So to convert to Enrich Miles (EM), with Premier card you will need 4300 TP to get 1000 EM.

Example a return business class ticket to London cost you 93500 Enrich Miles; essentially means you need to spend approx. RM 80,410 to redeem a grab a return business class ticket. (Assuming all your spending are earning 5x TP)

With Enrich Miles redemption you are required to pay tax; fee depends on which airport you fly to. Example in europe,  London is the most expensive follow by Paris and Amsterdam. London is RM26xx and Paris RM18xx if i am not mistaken.

As normal business class ticket cost in the region of 15k, your spending of RM80410 on Premier 2 card essentially save you approx. RM12000 on your air ticket. So this work out to approx 15% rebate.

If you read the link i've posted earlier, during end of year MAS will have promo that offers 55,000 EM only to fly a return business class. Which means you only have to spend RM 47,300 on your premier 2 cards. (Assuming all your spending are earning 5x TP) This reflect a rebate of approx 25%

Some concern here will be the stability of MAS and of course these are more like a luxury reward for you so if you prefer cold hard cash, just move on to card that offer cash rebate.

yeah~ seems this premier 2 card is the best. but too bad the requirement is 180k/annum.... so maybe i only can opt to apply for VI first.. cry.gif
