which one is the better card to replace OCBC Ti(watami, wise, uob one)?
*
Watami is good for the first RM1,666 a month where u get 3% Cash Back every quarter. Also, u get Points to redeem AEON Vouchers based on ratio of 250 points to RM1.00 Cash Voucher. However, except for seected campaign, Petrol is not counted as Retain Spent.

Wise is good only if u can fulfill their T&C, which is min 10 swipes of RM50 each per month and u spend a lot in the Cash Back categories.

UOB good and easy with no complicated T&C.

Petrol gets 5% - but there is a cap
Telco gets 2% - but there is a cap
Hypermarket - also gets 2% but with cap

So, it really depends on your Spending Pattern.

Don't forget Alliance Platinum. For RM5K spent a month, your cash back is RM68 + RM20 in cash vouchers.

Thanks for the info. So overall from what I see watami is the only card that quite close to the old OCBC Ti. Wise is a good card just that the only drawback are their T&C (10 swipes of RM50 per month and ) and no waiver for AF
*
Watami has 1 condition for CB, u must have accumulated spending of RM3K every quarter to trigger the 3% Cash Back (capped at Rm150 or RM5K spending every quarter). If you cannot achieve the RM3K spending every quarter, the Watami Card is not for you.

Hi everyone, i just bought a car recently with car loan application with ambank, i turn out to have an extra ambank credit card, which i need to pay for government tax right after i got the credit card, i dun need this card seriously, if i cancel the card, possible to escape from the rm50 tax? If no, then what would be the alternative way, thanks
*
Just call AmBank to cancel the Card as u never applied for it and u will not be bearing the RM50 GST.

To be sure, just drop by BNM after say 3-mths to get the CCRIS Report to make sure its not reported as still owing by you later.

I suspect they slip in the cc application form in the car loan application form and i signed it without any notice. Is it to legal they do it this way?
*
You can make a formal complaint to BNM if u wish to. BNM has made it clear that there is to be NO more pre-approved products. Banks are not allowed to offer any products that customer did not apply for.

If i made a report, will it bring any negative consequence to my ambank car loan? Just don't wish to get into any trouble after making the report.
*
Malaysians are generally very polite people who do not want to cause trouble. Objectively speaking, AmBank cannot take penalise your Car HP if u make a complaint for the Credit Card issue as they are separate matters. Your Car HP is governed bu your HP Agreement, so long as pay on time, Am Bank cannot do anything else its a basis for another complaint.

Whether u want to make a formal complaint to BNM is up to you. Some may say, just complaint to Am Bank, make sure they reverse the charge and check with CCRIS at BNM to make sure its not reported that u missed / owe Am bank the RM50 GST.

But if the CCRIS Reports shows that u owe Am Bank the RM50 (your account will be in Arrears), then u definitely should make an official complain to to BNM as it affects your credit history.

Thanks for the clarification, do i need to personally visit ambank branch to cancel my cc?
*
No need. Normal case just call will do but in your case, slightly more complicated. Better for you to to write Letter and then fax to their Customer Service.

You will need this Letter as a Record if u want to make complain to BNM in the future.

If i dun complain, just call will do right? then what i need to do if i checked CCRIS, and ambank claimed that i owe them the rm50 tax next time.
*
to check CCRIS, go to the nearest BNM Office, insert My Kad into the CCRIS Machine and a list of all your Loans including Credit Cards will come out.

If AmBank have not cancelled your CC and reverse back the RM50 charge, it may be refelectyed that u owe AmBank RM50 and your Account will show MIA (Months in Arrears).

Don't worry yet, just cancel the card first. Then in 6-mths go to BNM Office.

In fact, all Borrowers should make the effort to print out their CCRIS Report once a year to make sure that their identity has not been stolen to apply for loans.

I have not pay the rm50 actually, but i got ambank sms to urge me pay it. I just ignore
*
you need to cancel the card. Else, it will appear in CCRIS that u owe AmBank and this will have an ADVERSE impact to all your future Credit / Loan applications.

If i cancel today, will CCRIS gets updated immediately? So anytime after i cancel my cc can go check my CCRIS statement, the update will be there right?
*
The CCRIS should be updated on a monthly basis. So, if its reported as outstanding, if u cancel, it will only be updated the following month.

Two Cards may be suitable for you:

First - If you can plan your spending to coincide on Weekends

Maybank2Card

Pay GST for 1 Card only

For Amex - 5% Cash Back on Weekends + 5x Treat Points (including weekdays)
For Visa / Master - No Cash Back + 1x Treat Points only

Second - If you cannot plan your spending to coincide on Weekends

AEON Watami Card

- Get 3% Cash Back every Quarter, subject to minimum cumulative spend of RM3,000 and capped at RM5,000 spending. So, u can get cash back up to RM150 if u spend cumulative of RM5,000 per quarter. But, you MUST spend at least RM3K every quarter, else ZERO Cash Back

Cons with AEON is when u want to pay to AEON, its not as smooth as its not a Bank. Check the AEON tread for more details.

Btw, for someone earning RM5K and not having any CC, either you're a superstar fresh Grad or you're really Cash Rich.

Maybank 2 Card

5% CB for Weekends, capped at RM50 per mth

5x RP for all retail transactions. This is uncapped. This is also equal to 2% CB if exchange to Cash Vouchers. Use on weekends = 7% CB

5x RP means RM1.4 = 1 Enrich Mile which is the BEST conversion for non premium card. Other Premium Cards req RM60K min salary and convert at RM2 to 1 enrich mile like Citibank Premier Airmiles

A quick question! Which bank currently offers Paywave service?
*
think its depends on type of Card.

Both Maybank and Public Bank Visa Signature comes with Paywave feature

Thanks. Had bad experience with Aeon. Not really keen. Plus occasionally only use cc for company. Takut tak sampai 3k rugi nanti.  Any 2nd option?  Im not really that particular about high cb%. As long as i get back minimum 1%, its fine. Rather than just 1x tp using mbb visa, which translates to only 0.5%.

Salary tak cukup for visa signature though  sweat.gif
*
someone has already advised OCBC and HLB Essential but I still advice AEON Watami cos don't argue with money but only if u can spend RM3K per Quarter

If u don't hit 3K per quarter, u still get about 0.40% in Cash Vouchers

BTW, Maybank 1x TP = 0.50%, thought it was only 0.40% cos 5x TP = 2.0% in Cash Vouchers

pay insurance can rebate?

Best documents to submit as proof of income

1) BE Tax Return or the acknowledgement BE Form. However this is for last year income.

2) EPF Statement - most accurate and up to date. Cannot lie cos got employees and employer deduction

3) then u have internal documents such as EA form, pay slips.

Try to submit more external documents as it carries higher weigh.
