Thanks. I have look at both, just looking at options of not paying the RM800 annual fee.
Maybank would be my preference as i can view card details online but i dont think i will use more than RM50k per year to be entitled to waiver. Well from my nick, u can pretty much guess which team i support too..
*
Plus point for Alliance would be

1. access to lounge world wide
2. 30k within 12 months for free lifetime annual fee

Alliance do have online system to track your CC usage / payment. I believe most bank provide this anyway because i havent come across any that doesn't provide this platform.

1. Annual Income: RM80k to 120k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: if available

3. Card required for: Benefits(e.g airport lounge) and discounts(dining/shopping).

4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank2card, HLB Wise , public bank(planning to cancel)

5. Looking at CC from: Any banks

Do not need another cashback card.
*
Alliance Platinum CB - Unlimited Free entry to KLIA Premier Lounge, the CB however is unattractive as it is tier-based. Is one of the cheapest card to maintain that come with complimentary lounge access in KLIA. (12 swipes a year for annual fee waiver)

AEON Watami - 3% rebate capped at RM150 (RM5k spending) quarterly, minimum 3k spending quarterly to be eligible. No category crap like other cashback cards.

QUOTE(yauyauLovesYou @ Dec 9 2013, 01:30 PM)
1. Annual Income: RM24K to RM30K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, Education, Cash Back/Rebate for retails/groceries

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil.

5. Looking at CC from: OCBC Titanium MasterCard for cash back for retails/groceries and UOB ONE Card for petrol.
what u guys think?  hmm.gif
*
OCBC now only 1%, get M2Kard for weekend spending 5% rebate. Can also consider Watami as my recommendation above to soven.

but i dont like the fact i must spend only on weekends. i spend on weekdays too.
watami must spend at certain location for 3%? as my place dont have all those big brands around
*
Yes anywhere as long as the card is accepted, also a good backup to M2Kard Amex in the event that Amex is not accepted smile.gif

Only conditions is rebates only kick in with minimum 3k spending quarterly and with this you only get rebate every 3 months.

Pump your petrol on weekends - Maybank2Kard (Amex) 5% rebate + 5xTP

Wise is good if you can meet the requirement 10x Rm50 transaction every month.

I tried switching from my UOB One Card to HL WISE Card, tot i can enjoy the 10% cash rebate on Mobile, Petrol and Dining.

Ended, some month i get the rebate some month i ended ZERO. The criteria for 10 x RM50 is difficult leh.

One of the month, i got 9 transactions......didn't realise i need to spend 1 more time to get the cash rebate.

HL Wise manager, if you see this message.....please remove this troublesome criteria. Or else, i will divorce you during my first year anniversary with you.

Life is already stressful, and this card give me more headache. I better stick back to my UOB One Card. At least i don't have to do tracking.

you probably end up losing money paying annual fee + GST. wink.gif

1. Annual Income: RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must or Small Amount only.

3. Card required for: Free KLIA/LCCT Lounge Access.

4. Existing credit cards if any: UOB One Card & VOX Card, Std Cht Justone Plat, Maybank2kard Gold, OCBC Titanium, CIMB Cashback

5. Looking at CC from: Not sure, the one that can provide lounge access

6. Others:

I and my partner will be travelling overseas next year. Hence I'm thinking to apply 2 cards that can provide us access to the lounge. There will be a trip through KLIA, and a few trip through LCCT (or KLIA2?)

Hope sifus here can provide me some advice.

http://www.hlb.com.my/pfs/cc/cc_visa-signa..._visa-signature

Not cheap to maintain having to swipe 30k per annum to waive AF but since 1st year is free no harm to sign up and cancel when near 1 year anniversary. Also on paper the required income is 80k per annum.

Can also look at RHB Signature / Platinum series, 4X entry into any lounge in Malaysia but again the annual fee waiver T&C makes it hard to be kept for long term.

My recommendation for KLIA;

1. Alliance Platinum - 60k PA income - unlimited access to KLIA lounge - AF waived with 12 swipes a year
2. New AEON Credit Card - 36k PA income - 6X KLIA lounge access per annum - 6 months 0% BT - attractive foreign exchange rate for oversea transaction (Based on my experience lower than rates on Visa website)

4. Existing credit cards if any: none

5. Looking at CC from: UOB One or OCBC Titanium

6. Others: none

Not needed now but maybe in another 4-5 month where i will be outstation most of the time. If got other better option than those 2 cards that i mention, please suggest. Thank You

It is time to review which card to retain.

I have:
Maybank2 amex
OCBC Titanium
UOB One platinum
CITI Clear

It hurt when it comes to GST and Annual fee charge to my statement when i rarely use the card.

Citi Clear very useful when it comes to dining, shopping, privilege & movie ticket. So i will keep this
OCBC revise to 1%, hardly see the savings unless i swipe a lot. Everymonth max swipe until 400. Sometimes no swipe. Hardly see retailer tie with OCBC for promotion except the curve dining.
Maybank2, the treatpoint easily to achieve when waiving GST. The con is spend on weekend to enjoy cashback.
UOB one, i apply this becoz the BT is the most cheapest. This can only compare with Maybank cashback.

These i normally spend, Maybank2 can achieve more savings if i do it on weekend.
Petrol - RM300
Grocery - RM100
Digi - RM80

Need sifu to advise which 2 card to cancel ? If all free annual fee and GST, then i dun need to headache.

Cut UOB and possibly OCBC Ti

Using Amex (If it is accepted) on weekdays the 5xTP is equal to 2% rebate. your only problem is when Amex is not accepted but as you mentioned max only 400 a month which rebate RM4 only. sufficient to cover the OCBC Ti GST you reckon? I would cut it and use Maybank2Kard Master/Visa as backup since it's free (You pay GST to use Amex, might as well just utilize the master/visa to gain 0.4% rebate via the TP)

For BT pls check other cards (Bank Islam, Aeon and etc - there is a thread specifically on BT), there are bank that offer 0% interest and 0% fee 6 months BT. in other word this mean it is free to do BT.

Recommend you to get the Aeon Watami
1. You can do 0% interest / fee 6 months BT
2. This can act as your back up card for big transaction, it offer 3% rebate if you spend minimum 3k within 3 months.

2. I dont spend that much every months.

Thank you for your recommendation. what do you think about Cimb cash rebate platinum mastercard?
*
M2K Gold is only 30k PA, must have CC in Malaysia if you ask me.

CIMB CB Platinum only good for online payments? Not bad since no AF involved but don't see how it fit your usage

Sorry for not following the format, but I just need to know which CC is the best for online purchases? I have HL WISE, Citibank Clear and OCBC currently, and they don't help much for purchases made online.

Thanks!
*
OCBC if it is Titanium offer 1% unlimited for any transaction.

http://www.cimbbank.com.my/creditcard/inde...u&ct=cashrebate

5% rebate on e-commerce transactions but please read the T&C to see if it suit you

I see. But what about those reward point and such. MB2K has 3 years expiry date, but Citibank has lifetime reward points. And is AMEX widely acceptable? Kinda just started working a year ago so only started to have money to spend a little.
*
My experience with Amex so far can say 80% of the merchant in klang valley accept it, especially bigger outlets in shopping malls.

Correct M2K has 3 years expiry but with 5X reward it is still very good. Citibank only certain promo you get more else just the pathetic 1 point for every RM1 spent.

I have both M2K and Clear Card, M2K Amex is my main card and i will cut off clear card soon after 1 year+ of owning.
