1. Annual Income: RM34K to RM36K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Better if you have.

3. Card required for: I am using it for mainly Petrol (Shell with bonuslink) RM270~ offtopic:I heard Caltex better and Mobile only. Utilities not much. Cash Back/Rebate is my priority

4. Existing credit cards if any: OCBC Ti only.

5. Looking at CC from: MBBCC / Watami (but do not cover petrol) / Wise promo come with GSC / Wise promo with BIG points

6. Others: Preferably for cards that can pay everything online like OCBC Ti last time. Will definitely keep my OCBC Ti as it is important for me to pay insurances and big amount of purchases.

Please advise guys. Thanks!

Haha I just calculated, no I don't think will spend RM50 for each transaction but definitely would more than 10 times.

UOB need at least RM300 per month but I only use up RM240~RM270 the most.
*
Bro,

firstly, the UOB 5% cash back is not you must pump RM300 to be eligible for the cash back. It is the other way around where you will earn cash back for pumping petrol up to RM300 only. I.e. Maximum cash back for petrol with the UOB One Card Clasic is RM15 a month. So with you pumping RM270, this card is good for you BUT it does not offer auto annual fee waiver and therefore after the first year, you got to call them and beg for it.

The card that earn you most for your case is what bearbear mentioned, i.e. Maybankard 2 Cards AMEX where you will earn 5% cash back on weekends PLUS 5X TP in addition to your bonuslink points. That is if you can wait till Saturday or Sunday, if cannot, then UOB the option to go with. The 5X TP really good for you case too, because with RM270/month petrol, you also earn 16,200 Treats Points a year where you can redeem using 12.500TP to offset the RM50 GST making the Maybankard 2 Cards truly FREE smile.gif

And with RM270 petrol a month, that leaves you RM730 to spent with the MBB 2 AMEX to earn 5% cash back on weekends for any type of transactions. AMEX is accepted at AEON, GIANT, TESCO, Harvey Norman, Machines, DELL and many other places.

MBB 2 Card AMEX maxed out/need petrol card for weekday
Got MBB VI.

Can't hit RM3000/quarter on Watami so no cashback there.

Need a replacement for OCBC Ti

Citibank Cash Back Platinum Credit Card vs UOB One Classic/Platinum. Which one and why?

+Weekday petrol
+Dining where AMEX not accepted
+General use where AMEX not accepted

Usage below RM1000 a month.

Yes, You can Notice that, the UOB One Card having Similar Benefits with Citibank Cash back Platinum...

Citibank Cash Back Platinum Annual Fee - $195 (Income Requirement RM60k p.a)
UOB One Classic / Platinum Card Annual Fee $68 / $168 (Income Requirement RM24-60K p.a)

BUT, You Can Earn More $$$ with Citibank Cash Back Platinum... nod.gif

* 5% for Petrol Cash Rebate [capped at RM600 for Citibank CB Platinum card RM300 / RM500 for UOB ONE Classic / Platinum card per month.]

* 2% Cash Rebate for major mobile service providers (Maxis, Digi & Celcom) [capped at RM200 / RM300 for UOB ONE Classic / Platinum card per month Citibank CB Platinum Rebate will be Unlimited as Long U Pay the Bill thru Citibank Online]

* 2% for Groceries [capped at RM1000 / RM1,500 for UOB ONE Classic / Platinum card & RM3,000 for Citibank CB Platinum card per month]

* 2% at Pharmacies [No Capping on Both Citibank & UOB CC]

But Anyway, the Citibank CB Only credit the cash back earned once you reach RM50 & If the cash rebate is less than RM50 for a particular month, the total cash rebate amount will be carried forward to the following month... Meanwhile, the UOB credit the cash back monthly into the account...

the 2% Phone Bills Rebates of Citibank CB ONLY Available with Payments Made through Citibank Online & One Bill Payment... Whereas You can Enjoy Phone Bills Cash Back with UOB Card with any Payment Channel ie: at Online Portal or Pay Over the Counter...

+ U Will Get 5% + Another 2% Smart $ Cash Rebate at BPH Petrol with UOB One Card as for the Citi CB Plat. Just Plain 5% Off for All Petrol Station & Also Don't Forget 5%Off on GSC Tickets with UOB One Card.

But Beware with the UOB Petrol Rebates now with quota limit capped at RM900,000/ month Nationwide on 1st come, 1st serve basis... As sometimes We X get any Petrol Rebate at the Middle of the Month cos Quota dah Habis... vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Whats the recommendation for high roller's credit card?

Current Credit Limit ranging RM150k-RM250k. Aiming for higher just to cater personal business needs.

But it's hardly to clone now due to BNM new application rules.

*
Watami is good for the first RM1,666 a month where u get 3% Cash Back every quarter. Also, u get Points to redeem AEON Vouchers based on ratio of 250 points to RM1.00 Cash Voucher. However, except for seected campaign, Petrol is not counted as Retain Spent.

Wise is good only if u can fulfill their T&C, which is min 10 swipes of RM50 each per month and u spend a lot in the Cash Back categories.

UOB good and easy with no complicated T&C.

Petrol gets 5% - but there is a cap
Telco gets 2% - but there is a cap
Hypermarket - also gets 2% but with cap

So, it really depends on your Spending Pattern.

Don't forget Alliance Platinum. For RM5K spent a month, your cash back is RM68 + RM20 in cash vouchers.

Thanks for the info. So overall from what I see watami is the only card that quite close to the old OCBC Ti. Wise is a good card just that the only drawback are their T&C (10 swipes of RM50 per month and ) and no waiver for AF

Watami has 1 condition for CB, u must have accumulated spending of RM3K every quarter to trigger the 3% Cash Back (capped at Rm150 or RM5K spending every quarter). If you cannot achieve the RM3K spending every quarter, the Watami Card is not for you.

1. Annual Income: RM69K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must (lazy to call to beg for waive annual fee)

3. Card required for:
a) Petrol RM350+,
b) Insurance autodebit monthly (RM979),
c) Cash Back/Rebate, reward,
d) Overseas Transactions (occasionally) ,
e) utilities bill (Maxis phone & broadband RM170+RM105, TM fix line RM26, electric RM50, water RM6) = pay via online
f) 0% interest installment, (3C gadgets )
g) Majlis bandaran cukai pintu, cukai tanah, indah water = via online payment
h) Grocery RM200 - 300 (sometime pay by cash)
i) car maintenance
j) dinning - once in a blue moon
k) vacation - hotel, flight ticket (once or two per year)

4. Existing credit cards if any: CIMB Direct Access Mastercard (plan to cancel), OCBC Titanium Mastercard(Just applied last Oct, sadly now more 5%), Maybank Sony visa (Plan to cancel).

5. Looking at CC from: UOB One Platinium Visa or Maybankard 2 (Amex & Visa)

6. Others: ....

So UOB better or MBB 2 better for me? For MBB2+OCBC combo or cancel OCBC and get MBB2+UOB platinium combo

One thing I dun like UOB platinum, need to swipe 12 times per year and spend 36k per year or call the SC to beg for waive...which I dun like and more likely I forget to call on time rclxub.gif
